Neat cost effective accommodation, good English Breakfast and superb TBone steak.
Wonderful place to visit.
Brandberg is the the largest iselberg in NAMIBIA and have the highest point in Namibia. The landscape is just amazing and worth seeing in this hash place
Surprisingly comfy budget accommodations, a very nice reasonably priced bar/restaurant, a nice breakfast (included), an unusual pool table, a couple of African Greys providing hours of amusement. However, the rear window of our room went out directly onto a BBQ grill of the camping site behind the building. This meant turning on the AC, if necessary, would have been impossible, plus you could hear every word spoken by the people partying there quite late. Also note, the hot water is not available at night. However, overall, cheap and cheerful, would stay there again.
Always friendly and helpful. Nice breakfast and a great neighborhood.
Price to quality ratio - the best we've had in namibia. Has a fantastic big pool, good WiFi, we had lunch and breakfast which was nothing special but perfectly adequate and reasonably priced too. Staff were great and helpful too
very rustic and not so well maintained . however, recommandable in case you have Branberg to visit on your list.
A nice comfortable and friendly establishment. Basil and his team were just good during our stay. The self catering place we had could comfortably take 6 people with all amenities and very clean.
Love this place. A definite must when you in this little town.
Positives:
+Breakfast and restaurant were quite okay and with good prices. +Location in Uis is very easy to find and with some signs on the road. Price
Negatives:
-Although in Winter, we had mosquitos in our room in a considerable amount and nothing to counter it other than mosquitos net. We needed to ask on the bar, because reception was already closed, some insect spray and sprayed the whole room. Next day on the reception we ask for it again but they say we would need to buy it on the supermarket. They could only give us some tablet for the plug socket.
-The first night was quite warm but as no air conditioning control was available we decided to ask for it on the second night. Reception says they cannot give it to us and it is mannual. Said we should not worry cause it was already on perfect configuration. Allright we try it at night and for the first hours it was indeed green and in a good temperature. However.. on the middle of the night, rooms is again very hot.. the AC lights was Red and it was heating the place.. that much to right configuration..
-Water quality was very bad. It was salty so even to wash your teeth you were not sure if you should use it.
-Room was very old furnished. (Standard Room option, ensuite) It was separated through a normal doors from the rest of the house, which means we could rear the neighbors. Our luck was that they were early sleepers.
-Owners seem to do not care.
-Price/Quality is questionable.
The host is great, the rooms are spacious and comfortable. The food gets monotonous after a few days; breakfast especially.
Great spot! Basil the owner is a friendly and helpful guy. Showed us where to go to look for elephants. He has a beer wall in the bar. Beers from all over the world from his guests. The place is cosy but there really isn't much of a view. And the food is just OK. There's also no WiFi in the rooms.
great little spot in an old mining town. the rest camp was clean and the beds were comfortable. rooms have aircon and full kitchens
Great, fun place. Love the cheeky parrots. The owner is quite jolly and you must try any of his homemade booze (if you're so inclined).
Decent campsite in the town of Uis providing electrical hookup and clean bathrooms and facilities. It is merely a functional low-cost option as there is no view from the campsites.
Great great great ! Basil is a fantastic host! Always helpful especially with motorbikes
