Recommended for short stay and last minute decision. It is in the center of Kota Kinabalu and has good value for money. As of Nov '17, the place undergoes renovations and only third and fourth floor are available while there are no lobby or facilities like in the pictures. For now, that is.

It was a terrible stay in this backpakers lodge.
First, the receptionist at the check in counter was very unfriendly and was not respond to the question which I asked and requested. My room aircond was spoiled and couldn't function well. I asked for changing the room but the staff insisted by said that the aircond was fine and can function as normal. She took a remote control to me and just simply press a few button then said the aircond was fully fine and can function. After that, she just ran away from the room.
Second, the hygiene problem for the hotel was really terrible, the bedsheet really suck, the room full of spinder web, no towel provided, no mirror and even one dustbin also do not have it in the room. The washroom is the sharing concept, it was a nightmare as well.
No water supply, the toilet was freaking dirty.
Third, because I paid for extra RM10 for the aircond but the aircond couldn't function well so I insisted ask for the refund of the RM10 but the receptionist just ignore my request and pretend didn't heard anything.
Lastly, please do not stay in this backpacker inn.

Price is ok, but not well maintained. If you're looking for comfortable good night sleep look for another.

Comfortable, although the building is quite old, it is still a great and economic place to stay. Several shops can be spotted around where daily needs are readily available. Facilities are below average.

Basic and acceptable place for modest traveller. Don't expect much. Good location, though.

It's an OK crash pad, but don't expect a lot of fancy amenities to be going on here. Basics such as showers are sometimes not functioning, but the surrounding area is nice, so they get points for location. You're paying for exactly what you get here; not much.
