Beautiful n informative tour around the pewter factory. Filled with history of pewter in Malaysia. Like the Hard Knock workshop. You can make your own pewter bowl with your name in it. Get to bring it back together with the apron supplied. A must-do in Malaysia.

I brought my guests from New Zealand to the visitor centre. We had a personal tour guide who was very informative and she paced herself really well, enough for us to process the historical information.

They have a section where we were able to view historical items made from tin, the science of pewter, items of both the early years and the latest production.

As we had just visited Ipoh a week before, and learnt about the tin mining industry of Malaya, this part of the tour gave us complete perfect ending to our historical journey.

My guests were impressed with the fact that each item is hand-made by trained Artisans of Royal Selangor. I will definitely recommend anyone, even locals, to make a visit to this amazing place.

Too good. Not many know about this. They will show their factory as well and how it is made. You will have an opportunity to work and get a compliment with your name written on it (They charged RM 65). You can also shop and buy as well. I loved the building and lovely architecture.

I wasn't super excited to come here, but it was way more interesting than I thought it would be. It's a bit out of the way, unfortunately, but the more in-depth version of the tour is incredibly interesting. The sheer level of care and effort is marvelous to witness, and I'm glad I came. If you find the chance and you find crafts interesting, it's a must-see!

Oldest factory which has a long history started in 18th century manufacturing many products made of Pewter. Also now expanded silverware etc.
    Nice place to visit.

Had a great time here. Making the bowl at The School of Hard Knocks was great fun. The tour of the museum and foundry was informative and the guide was fantastic. The fact that they provide personal tours and don’t have to join a group was nice.

Really enjoyable unexpected insight into the world of pewter. Free tour with guide who makes it very informative. Seeing folk at work and given chance to tap out design yiurself. Ends of course with gift shop but no hard sell and ended with couple of game of thrones goblets. Good fun.

The factory tour is free and a good place to visit for a first timer locals/foreigners. Cafe offers simple nice and affordable food which are prepared daily. With an extra fee you can try the school of hard knock or even the foundry to de-stress. Try it. It's fun when you try school of hard knock with your buddies.

Nice place to visit. Could get greater insight into the whole process They have excellent guides who could brief us about the origins of Pewter and how it has evolved over the years.

A half day experience at least. Start with the tour, then take the workshop classes where you can craft pewter items (one class hammers out a bowl with the other class working with liquid hot pewter to form custom designs.the second class is not for young kids given the hot metal). After the class, have a light meal in the cafe then wrap up by browsing in the large gift shop. We had loads of fun and will be back.
