Description
The Founder, Dato’ Koh King Ong. He started his career from bottom by doing various types of jobs to fulfill his daily lives needs. After returning to Malaysia, he worked as lorry driver for few years before he founded King Ong Industries Sdn Bhd on 21st February 1984 that is of quarry operation and trading. He then ventured into construction field by established King Ong Construction & Prawns Breeding on 24th May 1988, where it took over projects related to construction such as earthwork, roads and drains around Perak and Peninsular Malaysia.
In year 1990, 7th of March, King Ong Development Sdn Bhd was established to develop small housing areas and factories, to develops own projects as developer. In the mid-90s, King Ong Development Sdn Bhd successfully completed more than 20 housing scheme including apartments around Sitiawan.
Because of the establishment of King Ong Industries Sdn Bhd, Dato’ Koh took over one of the three operating quarry in Manjung district in the year 1997. This company got involved in various big projects such as TNB power generating Plant in Majung.
In early 2009, U-Tung (M) Heavy Industries Sdn Bhd was established, that was the appointed as main distributor for heavy machineries for Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore by Zhengzhou Yutong Heavy Industries Co Ltd. As the main distributor, they too provide the ‘in house’ service to test and reassemble the heavy machineries according to the needs of customers.
In the coming years, Dato’ ventured into other businesses such as bricks production, sand trading, plantations and hoteling.
