Please read carefully to save your braincells, time & energy!!

FOR THOSE WHO SUCCESSFULLY RENEWED THEIR PASSPORT ONLINE (i.e. no issue with photo or thumbprint) PRIOR TO PASSPORT COLLECTION AT THIS PUCHONG IMMIGRATION OFFICE, PLS LISTEN TO MY IMPORTANT SHARING AND TIPS/TRICKS BELOW:

    1. After you manage to renew online, wait for the email reply saying that your application is successful (hereinafter referred as Approval Email). You may opt to print that email for ease of showing to officer later (or just show your phone).

    2. Since the office officially opens at 8am, you only need to be there at 7.50am or 8am on the dot (if kiasu can reach at 7.30am). Do not join the long queue as those people usually are walk-ins/ have issue with their photo or thumbprint/ are doing other things like NRIC which is unrelated to passport. DO NOT QUEUE LIKE A FOOL AS THEY WOULD HAVE YOU.

    3. Let the female guard or RELA volunteer(s) in uniform there know that you wish to collect your passport AND that you have zero issue with passport photo/thumbprint. PLEASE COMMUNICATE CLEARLY WITH THEM AND DO NOT SIMPLY GO UP YOURSELF OR RISK GETTING SCOLDED LOL.

    4. To the right of Klinik Lakshmana, there is a green signboard "Jabatan Imigresen Malaysia, Cawangan Puchong" bearing address 67-A. Proceed to Level 1, Counter 11 and pass your
    [1] original IC
[2] online payment advice/slip HARD COPY
    [3] old passport
...and show the Approval Email to the PIC at the counter.

    5. Lastly, just sit and wait for approx. 15-20 minutes (depending on crowd) and your name will be called once the new passport is ready for collection. PLEASE BE RESPONSIBLE BY STAYING ALERT TO YOUR NAME BEING CALLED. DO NOT BE TOO ABSORBED IN YOUR PHONE.

THANK YOU, HOPE THIS GUIDE HELPS YOU LOTS.

Note: apart from the lack of clear directives (a common trait in our nation), this office's efficiency is generally considered pretty high and overall it had been a pleasant experience for myself. Thank you officers.

    For new passport application

Arrive around 7.20am & manage to get the number and mine was no 32. They provide around 40 numbers per day for walk in customer including senior citizen. Then will separate 2 session. My slot in afternoon after 2pm & been advise by officer to come by 2.30pm. I settle all the process & receive my passport by 3.30pm same day. All in charge officers are very helpful & friendly.

Please bring your Original IC and a photocopy along with you.
Payment through card and NO CASH!!!!

Guys, u need to come line up at 5-6am if want to get passport. If u apply online & recd email to come collect, also same case need q ya.

Many people are turned away as big crowd, thats really inconvenient to rakyat as many took leave to come attend. But if come back another day also crowd become bigger haha.

Hope can relocate immigration to a bigger better puchong area soon to handle the demand.

Not blaming staff, customers angry imigresen also angry ayo..

Came in 6.40 a.m. and the line was already super long. At 7.52 a.m., the line was divided into two; online applications & walk in.

both walk in and online application need to get numbers. 25 for walk-in, 25 for online applications. surprisingly the walk-in queue was shorter than the online applications (hence just walk in la since online applications also seems useless at this point).

the rest? go back home and cry about it.

also at the front of the pejabat imigresen, the parking was designed for the imigresen officers - they didn’t put up cone there to prevent people from parking in the box and if you came early in the morning when it’s still dark you might not realise it.. so don’t park there or you will get summoned by an indian lady with condescending tone & seems so proud giving summon tickets to people.

to imigresen puchong, you need to add more counters and be more efficient. think of ways to be efficient.

Went on a Tuesday morning at 745am, the queue was already very long. I was about 90th(?) in line. However when the officer came out around 805-810ish, half of the people left the queue because they were trying to renew via walk-in. It was mentioned that only 50 people could do walk-in, including the seniors.

I applied the renewal online and made payment on a Sunday morning and to my disbelief, i got an email response after about 1.5hours later stating that my fingerprints were invalid. Collection is available on the same day. (Email response takes up to three days usually)

About 9am i got my queue number from the office at ground level by showing my payment receipt to the officer. Please be reminded to bring along the receipt, old passport and IC, as well as the email response from immigration.

After obtaining a number, proceed to the first floor and wait for the number to be called. An hour later, i was called to counter 12 and he mentioned that i needed to retake my photo. At this point of time, your IC will be kept by the officer with the old passport. The fingerprint was re-taken on the spot.
Back to the waiting game again and in about 10mins my photo was taken at counter 13. Do wear a dark colour shirt if you are unsure if you would retake your photo. After this, officer informed to be back in about an hour for passport collection at counter 12.

Went back in 45mins and it was coincidentally my turn. Signed on the new passport and the form provided by officer along with stamping my prints, i was free to go.

Whole process took about 3hours, still the fastest I have been through as compared to previous years in Kelana Jaya.

Overall my experience was fine as the officers were pretty ok, despite there was a bit of a quarrel between some customers in queue and the officers that were monitoring the line.

Only one counter open, no toilet, no aircon, limited seat. As usual staff slow service. Is on fist floor, not wheelchair friendly. The process took like 4-6 hrs. Close for lunch at 1 pm. Only 50 number giving up per day.

Since when the people working there allow others to cut our line? I waited there since 6.45 a.m. and a bunch of people did not get their numbers because of the second line from people far behind. Such a bad experience and I hope improvements can be made.

    31/12/18, arrived at 7am.
    Already long queue.
RELA informed 80 passports for today.
8:00am, suddenly RELA announced only 55 passports instead of 80 due to only 1 counter is available.
Applicants who lined up after the 55th had to leave. Very disappointed!
    8:30am, my number is 41.
    10:45am, photography
    11:00am, made payment
    12:10pm, passport collection

Avoid this branch if possible. Lack of serviceable counters and super slow. Might as well goto Putrajaya. More people but also more counters

Place is a little of the radar for most people, but if you want to avoid the mad queues and jostling crowds, this place is ideal. Do expect a bit of a wait especially for the collection certain documents as this is not a main branch.

An immigration office to apply and update passports for Malaysians. Queue starts very early before their opening hours, and usually queue numbers would run out a few minutes after they open. If you come after 9am, it's most likely that you will not be served. Should really provide more numbers, ie, maybe hire more staff. Suggest to just go straight to Putrajaya for passport renewals.

7th Oct 2016, there were 4 of us, myself, husband , my daughter and Mom. We arrived at 8 sharp to que to collect number which took us 1 hour and continue waiting for another 3 hours to be attend. Which i believe it is standard waiting time when it comes to gonvernment. Throughout the hours, we have been noticing their employee treating people with no manners at all. Speaking so loud. They were sitting at the "kaunter pertanyaan" so yes, people do come and ask. And why do u have to scream just to answer a question? People here been treated like dogs. To the extend where nobody tend to entre the counter. Like wut the? I wonder why puchong people here nodd down to them? When it comes to my turn, I have been attended by a lady named Nava (counter 13) 11.30 am situation wasnt that serious but for me, her body language, her manners, her eye contact, her expression of anger due to lots of work, its totally not there!! Sarcasticly say it oud loud "jgn lama2 sgt Saya byk kerje nak buat nie!" Repeating the same damn thing 3times. Do u think i am deaf or stupid? Truely loud and sarcastic. Look. You have been paid for ur job. And we r paying for our passport. A propper word and manners would be appreciated. I am not Done and I am very sure i am not the only one facing this situation. I will ensure that higher management would strickly take action towards this lady.
