Description

INSPIRE is a newly-established and first national Think Tank, Non Political and Non-Profit Organisation that focuses on promoting entrepreneurship and business-based education excellence.

First mooted in 2011 by group of young entrepreneurs, corporate leaders and academician, INSPIRE was officially established on June 12, 2012.
INSPIRE acts as a brain trust that promotes a culture of entrepreneurship amongst the young, which shifts their paradigm from seeking opportunities availed to them in the already competitive job market to creating new business opportunities not just for themselves, but also fostering new engines of economic growth.

INSPIRE aims to foster this spirit of entrepreneurship by producing research papers, organising talks, conferences and workshops, as well as a host of special projects.

As a start, INSPIRE will roll out four key signature programmes and modules designed to promote the culture of entrepreneurship, enhance hard and soft business skills and strengthen business networking amongst young business people and potential business startup candidates. The four signature programmes are:

1. Start it Right
2. Be Your Own Boss (BYOB)
3. Teh Tarik Time (T3)
4. Click

OUR HISTORY

Chronology of INSPIRE’s establishment

• 2011, July – The inspiration to set up INSPIRE was sparked in Cairo, Egypt, where one of the founding met many students there who were inclined to set up businesses but lack the proper knowledge and guidance to do so. Hence the idea of wanting to provide them with the proper guidance and assistance was deemed important. This brought together the two founding members, Husam and Fitri to establish the foundations of the group.

• 2011, November - While at Arafah, Husam realised the important need to establish a body to officially administer the new venture, and the name INSPIRE was hatched. INSPIRE, short for – Institute of Pioneering of Entrepreneurship Excellence.

• 2011, December – At Istana Seri Menanti, Negeri Sembilan, His Highness Tunku Abidin suggested that the term Entrepreneurship to be replaced with the term Economic this would allow the institute to represent a broader scope.

• 2012, February – While at Bukit Tunku, Husam met with Wan Saiful Wan Jan to seek his opinions on INSPIRE. Wan Saiful supported Husam’s thoughts as IDEAS is skewed towards policy and INSPIRE will complement the vision and mission of the think tank by ‘going direct to the ground’.

• 2012, May – In realizing the importance of Education to instill and inculcate entrepreneurship from as early as the schooling years, Husam and Fitri decided that the term Education should be part of INSPIRE’s name

• 2012, 12 June – INSPIRE was officially established.
