I have been visiting this bar a cold beer or two for close to 40 years. In the early years it was a busy and often rowdy place filled with Australian and American servicemen (stationed in Butterworth across the water), and an assortment of Asian Expats on Visa runs. The foreign soldiers are long gone so the place is empty most of the time.
A good place for reminiscing on the history of the Royal Australian Air Force years in Penang
Actually pretty cool. Small bar with lots of airforce memorabilia. Not really much of Hong Kong here though.
Nice quiet little bar. Friendly owners. Good place to have a relaxed drink and chill
War history covering the walls and nice cold beer!
Always a pleasure to stop by here to have a few beers and watch the world go by in Chulia Street.
Jenny is a great host who makes you feel very welcome
A bit of history for expat Australians but no atmosphere whatsoever
Good bar for travellers to meet other travellers
Good bar, good service, friendly place for the traveller
A Bar like a bar should be. No fancy, no hipster. Just a great old school beer bar.
Beers are around 11-12RM...& that's about it.
Jenny serves up the stubbies in her very well worn, grubby stubbie coolers all with an Air Force theme. The entire bar is decked out in old RAAF/RAF memorabilia.
&&& Jenny will love to take a pic of you to include in her visitors album.
If u head along, pull up a chair out front & watch the world go by enjoying a cold Anchor!
One of the oldest bars on the island. Used to be the habitual haunt for the British and Australian forces.
