The Boys' Brigade 2nd Kluang Company was founded in 1993 by Rev Chong Eng Mein & Capt Yap Hock Hing in SJK(C) Chong Eng. It was then a Junior section for kids from age 9 to 12 years. Their activities were badge classes, drill & singing. In 2002, under the request of HM Pn Normah Jantan of SMK Jalan Batu Pahat (today SMK Tun Hussein Onn), the senior section was founded with 20+/- kids. The senior section is for kids from 12 to 19 years. In 2010, the State Education Department took over the school as a sports school, and BB was transferred to SMK Taman Sri Kluang, but it was until 2012 then BB was officially established. Currently, the Senior section meets in SMK Taman Sri Kluang, and the activities are badge classes, drill and playing in a wind band. The membership of 2nd Kluang Senior section is open to students 12 to 19 years from different schools in the Kluang district.
Boys' Brigade was the 1st uniformed unit for schools in the world since 1883, and we have lots of activities all year round and any participant can assured to have a very memorable experience from it. Our methods are based on the few aspects of Discipline, Education, Moral, and Social. We train discipline through their uniformity and drill; education comes from the various fields we are involved and release the kids to explore; As we are a Christian Sponsored NGO, our moral values are based on the Bible, encouraging them to be better people; BB offers the kids to experience and participate, as well as meet groups from other places, and learn teamwork, unity and being consideration, even to some, leadership.
