This place blew my mind! Amazing structures! Tons of people! The only thing that caught my attention was the 34 Mexican pesos paid at the entrance before the bridge then at the actual place we had to pay 70 Mexican pesos to visit the place. That's the only downer to it. Other than that the place was marvellous!

Gets busy over weekends and extremely hot! And no place really to cool down. But they ruins are spectacular and the forest surrounding it even more spectacular. I would give it 5 stars if only there was a nice place to swim, cool down

Great place. Fantastic ancient architecture. You'll be amazed by the incredible Mayan structures. The parking lot is small. Take a water bottle with you because there are no stands inside. Wear comfortable clothes. Be prepared to walk a lot!!

Amazing site. Well preserved. Explanations are available in 3 languages.
I would start the site in the second entrance (the one uphill) to finish at the entrance near the museum, in order to finish the tour in a shady part of the park.
Beware of groups of enthusiastic people who will stay in a place until getting the perfect picture!

Absolutely stunning! The tour guide is worth the money ($95 USD)!!! Hire them at the front gate. DO NOT get conned into prepaid packages before your arrival. Do not buy anything on your way in! Buy on your way OUT, things get surprisingly cheaper as you exit! And climb the last pyramid, even if you have to take a break after every 8 steps. It's worth it 💯%. Oh, and Palenque is fantastic! I highly recommend staying there at least a few days!

Beautiful ruin in the middle of the forest. Walk a little bit out of the main buildings and find a blue water river with a wooden bridge (Murcielagos sector).

We were here in December 2012. An Amazing place and it is worth to come an see it. Better come early then there are not so many people around.

All the venders as you walk thru totally distract from the ruins.I would see their stuff before looking up to the buildings
.I decided to get the hell out because I was so mad. They should be set up outside the parkwhich is already filled.and very dirty and unorganized.So somebody is hoarding admission money.The venders have beautiful stuff but should be in a big store.

As Mayan ruins go this spot is gloriously jungly with some impressive sights. The site remains 90% unexplored so a real sense of adventure when walking around.

Guides have overpriced tours. Look for locals that can walk you around at a better rate or bargain, they will lower prices for groups.
The place overall is full of history and architecture. Recommended visit for tourists.

The ruins are impressive but be aware that they charge an entrance fee to the park and an additional entrance fee to the site (not overly expensive but a double fee nevertheless). The official Guide quoted us 85USD which sounded extortionate but an unofficial Guide, who charged 600 pesos, didn't know the correct facts.
I would suggest visiting the Museum first (the buses take visitors directly to the site entrance first and then the signs throughout the site direct them to walk to the Museum later). Also, the information boards at the temples etc are in Spanish and English so well worth reading.
Don't miss the walk through the jungle to more partially uncovered ruins and the waterfalls as they are also impressive.
