Nicest hostel I've stayed in, all countries included. Perfect waterfront location, in walking distance of everything. I recommend taking part in as many activities as you can, the guys and girls that will be accompanying you will let you know all about the town and the best spots to visit. Will definitely be back when I come to Bacalar again. Make sure to book early though as they have a lot of demand and are almost always full.

We are a middle age couple who booked a private room. The property and rooms are very clean, bright, and fresh. The staff was friendly and very helpful answering questions. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The back of the property facing the lake is a nice area to relax with plenty of seating and a bar. In the evening they had a bonfire and live music. It was a little loud at night, so this might be an issue if a quiet property is a must for you. I am unable to comment on the breakfast because we only stayed one night and left early in the morning. This property is a hostel. It is the perfect place for young travelers/backpackers to co-mingle. If you are not in this crowd and you think you might feel out of place, you may want to stay somewhere else.

The only place to stay in Bacalar! This was my favorite hostel up to now during my stay in Mexico.
The hostel is new and every bed has a charger which is very convenient.
The staff is really nice and helpfull, they guy at the bar, Erick gave me advices where to go and good places for food.
Also you should not miss the free walking tour in case you want to learn more about the place.
Really enjoyed my time there and I would defenetly go back.response / report this review -

In this Hostel is me and my Friend get stolen the Money from the Stuff out of the locker! 200€! And the Management was Not realy interrestet to help! First when i want Call the Police! So take care of you things!

Wow! Probably one of the best hostels I’ve been too. Feels more like a holiday’s family house.. great social vibe, clean place and rooms. So nice having the lake in front. Recommended!

The hostel is really awesome. The view is amazing, it's clean and the stuff is friendly. Perfect to chill of. Unfortunately you are not allowed to bring your own alcohol and the prices at the hostals bar are quite high.

Itbis bit expensive for a hostel. But it is located on a beachfront. And it has the best matresses i have seen among the hostels. Building is pretty and very clean.

Brand new, very beautiful rooms and view. Excellent location.
Breakfast is okay.
No bar yet (they are planning to have one).
No air conditioning, only fans (but for me it was enough).
Socially it's fun, they organize activities every evening so it's a good place to meet new people.response / report this review -

Very good and extremely clean hostel! Almost feels like a hotel. Dorms are quite spacious and the shared bathroom was a welcome surprise after some weeks in Mexico without a hot shower. The ambient is quite calm, however there are many youths there and during the night there was a small "party". The hostel has strict rules though that the staff makes sure are followed. I thought this went to an extreme at times, as the staff got very rude when I had left one bag in my room after checkout time. A good-looking girl with long black hair they should definitely get rid of. Rest of staff was good but cold and professional, you didn't really get the welcoming feeling you're used to at hostels.
So if you want a clean, safe and calm hostel this is a good choice! If you want the typical hostel feeling I would go somewhere else.
