Perfect place to relax and enjoy nature. Friendly staff, great food, supportive without being pushy. Beautiful nature and possibility to discover nature in a more extreme or relaxed way. Recommended if you want to be away from everyday noise and pollution.

The visit here was a last minute decision as a taxi driver had told us about it the night before. When we arrived (Jan 10) we were told that the best months to see the parrots leave or arrive are between February and May. After talking with the gentleman collecting the entrance fee (25 pesos pp) we decided to attempt the rappel down to the bottom. He contacted a local guide that arrived within 20 minutes (cost 700 pesos pp). The rappel down took some effort as you have to feed the line up as you release the brake. 100 meters of climbing rope has some weight to it. Once at the bottom the guide walked us further down to the lowest point of the sinkhole and also took us into a small cave on our way back to the ropes. Climbing up the ropes was challenging as we had not prepared for the exertion. While it only took 15 minutes to go down, snapping pictures along the way, it took 2 hours to make it to a path 30 meters from the top that we used to walk out the rest of the way. The guide stayed with us all the while, even towing my wife up the last 10 meters. For those that are physically able, I recommend it.

It's a beautiful view of where the parrots of Chiapas live. Nice 1k walk around the area to experience the forest. They do offer a chance to go down the hole and see all of the parrots home for 700 pesos. Even as someone that is frightened by birds, the beauty of the nature makes it a must visit destination when someone goes to Chiapas.

The Place is beautiful and the hotel as well. However be advised that the host of the hotel just see you as a cash machine. We stayed for dinner and night and they tried to cheat on bills charging 100 pesos more for dinner( i thought it was a mistake but after what happened i m sure it was not). They charged us 250 pesos for a short ride to town the day after to the nearest bus station. Due to a strike (the road was Blocked all day) there was no bus that day and the guy just left us on the middle of the street with zero help. This is the thanks he gave us for staying at the place. Turned out that He already knew the road was blocked but was not his fault, he said, and escaped with his car. Remember, this place sponsored as a cooperative to help the environment and local families is a joke. This families have absolutely zero interests and passion. They just want your money.
