Unique and lots of history. But you need a tour guide to aprishiated the fort. It has 300 yrs of history all verbal.

Increíble! A must in veracruz. 1st place where Spanish set foot in was this island and was also the last place where they hold resistance.

Very well kept, the former fort/prison/armory is great to behold. It's a short walk, from the parking lot to the actual buildings, and it might be worth it to get a tour guide, but it's not essential. Great for photo taking excursions, and interesting to see how the port has taken over what once was far from downtown. A must see
