Excelent museum. Worth the visit. Even the building has its history. It was a psiquiatric hospital for a while. The grounds are beautiful and the views for pictures the best.

We visit the Museo Regional de Cholula. Originally built in 1910 as the Hospital Psiquiátrico de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe, the structure, set afoot the Great Pyramid of Cholula, was renovated and expanded last year by Alejandro Sánchez García Arquitectos.
An impressive build, the museum is a great play on the history-modernity dialogue at play in Cholula and, more broadly, the state of Puebla (now a hair above 6 million in population). Between the original stark while suite of buildings and the more recent gorgeous additions in red brick, dark grey tole, and glass, the complex leaves the visitor with an impression of respectful contemporaneity.
Overall, the Museo Regional de Cholula feels at once like it belongs among the ruins that surround it, yet resolutely looks ahead to the future. It is, I imagine, one of the better examples of restoration in the country.
Inside the museum, there are various exhibitions about the history of Cholula, its volcanoes, as well as local arts and crafts. One of the most striking displays is the Desfile de Alebrijes, colourful Mexican folk art fantastical creatures.
Also notable is the gorgeous collection of tiles depicting the evolution of the Mexican golden eagle emblem.response / report this review -

We had a nice afternoon here. Most of the information is in Spanish only but there are some English signs. Quite a few of the interactive displays were not working but the ones that were working were impressive. The site is very pretty. We especially like the information on the Volcanos and the local crafts. One hall has a set of huge paper mache animals that are gorgeous. We also had a nice snack in the cafe.

Es un lugar precioso con exposiciones variadas y muy amplio. Da para recorrerlo por varias horas sin aburrirse.
Tiene tecnología además de los objetos que ayuda a entender las salas y una proyección en 3D muy interesante. Les recomiendo ir con tiempo y con pocas cosas ya que hay que hacer todo un rodeo para ir a la paquetería a la hora del cierre.response / report this review -

Extraordinario.
Me tocó asistir en martes y no cobran esos días.
Mi recomendación es ir con unas 3 horas de disponibilidad por la magnitud del museo y de lo mucho qué hay que ver y leer.
La vista que tienen hacia la pirámide, la iglesia y la ciudad es espectacular.
Se pueden tomar fotografías magníficas en cualquier ángulo, fuera de sus instalaciones también están las letras gigantes para tomarse la foto del recuerdo.

Es un muy buen museo que vale la pena ir a visitar con tiempo. Los días martes la entrada es gratuita y los demás días la entrada cuesta 40 pesos y 20 pesos para adultos mayores y estudiantes aunque también pueden ir en las noches de museo. En la entrada trasera hay un muy buen parque con las letras para tomarse una buena postal. El recorrido es largo por lo que recomiendo ir con tiempo. Lo mejor es su proyección pregunten por las horas de las funciones a la entrada.

Ahora uno de los imperdibles de Cholula, muy lindo museo por su arquitectura, cuenta con todas las facilidades y además la sala de proyección es muy buena, las salas cuentas con apoyos interactivos y digitales que hacen una experiencia enriquecedora en el museo

Una de las novedades de Cholula. El ex manicomio del Batán fue remodelado y reacondicionado para ser una gran galería de arte e historia de Cholula y de Puebla.

Este lugar me gustó MUCHO casi no lo visito después del cansancio de subir a la iglesia y visitar la zona arqueológica pero vale mucho la pena. No tiene costo y todas las salas son interesantes, los materiales multimedia (videos y pantallas) son lo mejor, no se pierdan la presentación sobre los volcanes! Además la comida del café Frida Querida es muy rico y con buenos precios en un bonito edificio.

Lindisimo lugar, muy interesante, con pantallas interactivas y bellas instalaciones. Muy lleno los domingos y los padres no controlan a sus hijos, hay q enseñarles a cuidar y respetar las cosas desde pequeños. En dgo deberia haber mas personas cuidando cada sala para que la gente respete y no dañe las exposiciones. No se lo pueden perder.! Tambien se puede disfrutar de una hermosa vista d la Iglesia arriba d la pirámide. Tiene tienda d artesanias.
