  Yes, it is overrun by tourists, but the sheer scale of everything is completely awesome. It has been almost a decade since I have been there, but still remember it clearly to this day. If you are in Cancun, you have to make the time to spend at least 4 hours in Chichen Itza. I have no idea how anyone is rating this less than 5 stars.
