It is strict prohibition to run! The air is thin and it is likely to collapse. However, the sight after climbing the mountain is beautiful enough to forget tiredness.

Amaizing scenary - fantastic landscape inside an extinct volcano / MUST arrive early morning if want to see snow / not recommended to young children as its a good 2km walk up mountain

Great place. Hard to get there without a car but there are options available. Views and all sorroundings are worth it!!!!

Nevado de Toluca is a good place for hiking. The season in which it is full of snow is when it starts raining or any rainy period. Very often it has been covered with snow around April . There is a driving dirt road which takes you to a lodge. From the lodge you can walk to the pass where you can see the crater lagoons or you can go down to touch the cold water. It is good excercise and there is a path to go down and back. You could also decide to climb the small peaks nearby or the highest one "Pico del Fraile".
