I am protesting museo jumex here because of the pieces in which live animals are used (as of april 2018).Â
There is a snake in a closed glass box, having maybe 2x2x0.5 m3 volume. The box is completely empty. There are also canaries in a small cage. These animals are behind walls, seeing no daylight or getting no fresh air.Â
The museum personnel was very polite and understanding and handed me a brochure describing how they take care of the animals (I in fact watched people taking care of the snake), but providing water and food is not enough. The brochure claims that these animals were "born in captivity" but this doesn't justify the act of using them in an "art piece".
I hope these pieces are removed from the exhibition and no museum or artist thinks of using an animal in their work. These animals don't choose to be there for you and you have no right to keep them captive!response / report this review -

Excellent contemporary art museum in Mexico City. Not to be missed. Great permanent collection and temporary exhibitions on view. It’s also near the museum that looks like the base of a toilet.

Is a good contemporary art museum for temporary exhibitions. Has all the services. Ugly architecture though.

This museum is not only modern but also has the best client management there is. My wife was pregnant and she received one of the best services out there. Because lines are big the museum gives out free cold juice boxes and umbrellas for people that can't get too much sun.

Great contemporary art museum with plenty of galleries. The gift shop offers some great gifts to buy. Great location in the nicest part of the city.

A fine art museum. I've gone to see the natural order of things and the warhol exhibits and both were pretty good. I sort of prefer the other art museums in the city, particularly the contemporary art museum. So maybe pass if you have an art quota on your vacation.

I went to see the building. It was worth it. Note that they don't allow food or drinks, even if you're about to store your bag in the lockers downstairs. And the no photo policy is strict: you'll get reprimanded if you even pull your phone out of your pocket. Don't miss the outdoor balcony on one of the middle floors.

I love the Jumex museum because of the all the great exhibitions they hold here and that change frequently so you're never bored with what they have on display. I visited recently during the Andy Warhol special but you were not allowed to take any photographs of his works. Other than that the building is beautiful and kept in excellent conditions, it resembles the shape of a traditional factory with the jagged edges on the rooftop.

Very interesting museum but doing temporary exhibitions all the time so I guess it could depend But our exhibition was very refreshing nice. the space is nice. It's just a bit complicated to get there without a taxi or walking 20 mins from the metro.
