The museum is beautiful and it is a must if you visit Puebla city. With such space the place could certainly improve by much. Attention was nice, but getting there by bus is kinda dificult since it is not in the central area of the city

Fabulous new museum of the baroque period. It is a ways out from town, so you do have to make an effort to get there. The setting of the museum is beautiful. The architecture is breathtaking and interior light atrium spaces ( look up) enhance the exhibit spaces. Make time to eat at the restaurant. The food is excellent, the service is wonderful, and the view is breathtaking. And it is actually a good value for the money.

While i'm not fond of the architecture style featuring massive, erratic curves of windowless concrete, i had to admit that the rationale described by our tour guide was a good one. The Japanese architect contracted to design the building of Puebla's Baroque Museum did indeed manage to deliver on his goal; a concrete canvas the polar opposite of baroque style.
Against this built environment the intricate, gaudy, regular, mathematical detail of the art is seen in high contrast.
Others surely have more educated things to say about the art; i enjoyed more of it than i anticipated, and was brought to tears in the music gallery listening to baroque music from the Americas.
Overall i highly recommend the museum, however one thing stood-out even above the music:
The restaurant! I haven't eaten such an elegant meal anywhere onshore!
From the appetizer of quelites with chipotle sauce to the exquisite herb, garlic, butter, or sourdough rolls, to the soups and entrees, everything i sampled was worth raving over, and i sat at a table with five others so i got to try a lot of the menu.
Finally, like the gracious tour guide we had for the museum, the wait staff in their restaurant was both kind and professional.
The price point was similar to the moderately priced restaurants elsewhere in Mexico, not cheap nor expensive.
Shear delight. I wish i had a romantic prospect to take there for dinners.response / report this review -

Modern building with a collection that is well exhibited. I loved the contrast between the modern minimalist building and the ornate art housed within. The collection is a mix of original art work from Spain and Mexico along with reproductions of important pieces.

Outstanding. Great interiors and excellent and engaging exhibitions. Definitely worth a visit. Don't miss the interior whirlpool as you end your visit. Staff super friendly. Wasn't expecting to see this in Puebla, well done!

Nice museum which explain different aspects of Baroque movement in music, painting, theater, literature etc. The restaurant is also worth a try.

An amazing modern museum that houses the largest exhibition permanent exhibiton of baroque epoque, the musem itself is a technology display where viistors can spend hours in it.
The restaurant and cafeteria live up to the expectations and have a really comprenhensive menu.response / report this review -

Beautiful museum building. The architecture is fantastic. The gardens well kept. The museum collection is limited and the attendants continually tell you not to get too close, not to go through that door, to go this way not that. Hardly a relaxing museum visit. The kids area is nice and interactive.

We visited the Museum for its building, but the exhibitions are so interesting and well curated that ended up staying for 4 hours. Absolutely worth a visit.

The architecture of the building is outstanding! The museum is huge, but there are little spaces to rest with great views, like a small lake. The museum is interactive, with a lot of screens and information, it also has a great guide to learn more about the culture and places to visit in town.

I hadn't read reviews of the museum so had few expectations. The experience was a delight with multi-media displays of all things baroque -- which significantly deepened my understanding and appreciation of a period that employed motion and detail to produce drama, exuberance grandeur in sculpture, painting, architecture, literature, dance, theater, music and clothing. The museum touched on it all. .

Well designed museum that truly builds upon different museum collections to present an overview of baroque art in various manifestations. Rich in interactivity and colours, it mixes simple explanations with useful visualisations. Something to be particularly praised is the inclusion of multilingual descriptions in every room: they can be found in Spanish, English, French and German with unusual quality.

It's a nice museum, great structure and design of the building. If you're a tourist they will charge you, no pictures allowed, security is everywhere and the lighting on a lot of paintings are insufficient or place a lot of glare on the oil. Plus touch screen displays? I could just see those pictures online?
The modern art area was just a storage room of nothing.
No pictures to show, nothing to share.

Go with comfortable shoes, the place is huge! Go to the special exhibitions, they're very nice.

This is one of the best museums in Mexico. You cannot leave the museum without being impressed and having learned a lot. I was especially taken aback by the beautiful model of Puebla's city center, it is so detailed and amazing. The building itself is gorgeous as well. This place is definitely a must if you are in Puebla.

The place is a marvel! no wonder it has won awards! the museum is outstanding!
The permanent exhibit is awesome and the way it is presented is the perfect way to enjoy it! Do not forget to go out unto to courtyard to see the fountain.
