This museum is OK. Frida's blue house is not very interesting, but Diego's studio seems to be very close to the way it was when he worked there. I have book with photographs of it and they seem to match.The stairs are narrow and steep. I can see why Frida didn't live there for long, it must have been really difficult for her to get into her side of the house. There is a really beautiful (big and fancy) restaurant diagonal to the museum called San Angel Inn. We did not eat there, but some visitors to the museum might like it. Good for a photograph if not a meal, anyway.

Remarkably liveable space considering it was designed and built in the 1920's. The light in his studio is magnificent. I want to live and work there.

The last stop on our Frida/Diego day The separate homes and studios of Diego and Frida in San Ángel. You may remember from the movie, these were the houses joined by a small bridge connecting them at the top. Unfortunately, Frida's side was cleared for another exhibit, but Diego's studio and home was rich with his painting supplies and works finished and unfinished. We even spotted a photo of an item that we had previously seen in Diego's museum 20 minutes prior.

If you want to meet Diego and Frida's house, this is where they lived. And it obviously became a museum - not by itself of course! -
Yes, this place was part of Salma's movie, or at least they used it as stage, so you should visit Frida's house as well if you want a bigger picture.

It is amazing they have taken care of the house were once Diego and (sometimes) Frida lived. It was a very tragic love story for both of them, however the museum contains more about Diego creations and inspirations. Do not recommend going with small children because there is a lot of stairs.

An adorable place for the lovers of Frida and Diego's story. That is the exact place where they filmed the movie.
The hole building it's totally functional. You can see that in every detail.
It's curious to see how big Diego's house is, because of his size and how tiny Frida's is due her stature.

The house has a very strong vibe. Inhabiting this place kind of takes u back to the time the artists lived there. You will be able to see some of their belongings which I think is cool. Some paintings are just copies..still worth it to walk around. The house design is pretty ubique considering the time it was built, however it has been in remodel for a long time now..

If you come to Mexico City, this and Casa Azul are "must-sees".
Diego's studio space is a unique look at how genius creates.
Remember, the museum is closed on Mondays, so plan accordingly!
