An indigenous architecture inspired artistic complex surrounded by classical nature from the valley of Mexico. Museum, square, halls and rooms to discover seasonal exhibits, workshops and a permanent gallery. Nice place to visit. Better for enjoying art within it. And yes, some movies were made inside this beautiful and active landmark.

It's the best! Wonderful museum with thousands of precolombiane pieces collected by Diego Rivera. He designed the building too with volcanic stones resembling a "good house" according to the Aztecs. Amazing. A must see in Mexico City!

An Amazing museum done for Diego Rivera archeological pieces of history. The structure of the building and the interior construction is outstanding. The 360 view at the top is worth the trip in its self. A must see when in Mexico City.

What a fabulous museum. One of the most stunning architectural wonders that I've ever seen! Diego Rivera loved Mexican culture and conceived this museum but sadly, never saw it's completion. It was built from volcanic rock, and feels dark and cold at the entrance, (which was his intention) and then lighter and brighter the more you climb it's internal pyramid. There are thousands of items which he collected from almost every indigenous civilization in Mexico's history, and on the top floor are some of his own massive murals and other works on display.

It's a wonderful museum and only takes about 30-40 mins to see it all.

Fascinating architecture and pre-Hispanic pieces inside Diego's museum. My favorite area is the rooftop patio with views of Mexico City. It really brought everything together. The entire structure is made of volcanic rocks!!!

Must visit if you are a fan of Diego. He built this museum for his collection of prehispanic pieces. Made of volcanic rock. No labels on the pieces, but the rooms are dedicated to certain gods. Entrance is 200 pesos-the ticket is valid for Frida Kahlo museum as well.

Astonishing exhibit of Diego Rivera's Central American collection of ancient artifacts. The museum has a large hall with several of Diego's conceptual murals.

The real treat is the building itself, which is an amazing stone fortress with Aztec inspired stone patterns. Well worth the visit!

I have been wanting to see the Anahuacalli for some years now and enjoyed the tour. The exposition was much larger than I realized as there are 4 floors plus the balcony. There could have been a little more literature describing the works. There was a plaque describing the room but not much describing each piece.

I really liked the sketches of some of Diego's controversial works. I had heard about them but it is different to see the sketches than to hear the story.

In an out of the way neighborhood of Coyoacan stands Diego Rivera's monument to pre-hispanic Mexico. Designed by his friend and well known artist Juan O'Gorman the building which resembles a lava stone pyramid houses a partial number of Rivera's 50,000 piece pre-hispanic sculpture collection.

One of the most impressive pre-colombian sculptures I have ever seen owned by an artist. Even someone as big as Diego Rivera. The museum is even made in the architecture style of an ancient Mayan/Aztec aesthetic. With modern twists of course, to accommodate all the galleries filled with deities of the ancient world.
