Excellent place to visit, the view of the monarch butterflies is beautiful, it's just the place to visit in michoacan. You can't miss this place if your gonna visit. Very recommended indeed.

Amazing experience, you will not be able to get the same feel anywhere else. Seeing those small colorful flying creatures, you will feel the joy of freedom.
Well maintained place with helpful volunteers and guides inside You need to do a small trek to reach the place where you can witness the eternity :)
Carry a bottle of water with you to hydrate yourself. Don't give up in the middle thinking there is nothing you see till that point coz the butterflies habitat begins in the place where human interfere is very less.
Please avoid making loud noise as it will disturb the tiny creatures and avoid throwing the plastic bottles in the forest.response / report this review -

Very very nice. The color didn't come through on my pictures because low light and big zoom. They have horses to rent I highly recommend because it's really fun and quite a hike too. Very fun. Huge groups of Monarch's on trees

I really enjoyed the experience. Minus one star because of the trash on the ground. That's the people though, not the place.
Prepare for a hike. It's about an hour each way. The horses are the way to go if you can spare the 100 pesos each way.response / report this review -

We had an incredible day and saw thousands of butterflies. It was so amazing I really can't describe it. Make sure that you go on a warmer day and preferably after it has been warmer for a day or 2 before. Sunshine is important too.

This is a beautiful place located between the states of Mexico and Michoacán. This place is beautiful cause the butterflies arrive here in certain seasons of the year, recommended !

I went back in 2000. One of the most memorable trips I have ever been on. Hard work to climb up there but so breathtaking you won't mind it once all the butterflies start flying around you making a surreal landscape.

A long trek up the mountain by foot and by horse and thousands of butterflies appear. Most interesting is the story of how they migrate and return each year. Fascinating.

Wonderful tour! be ready with water, sunscreen and mosquitoes repellent because it is a long walk. All in all it's a beautiful view, though please be careful with your steps
