México City was beautiful, nice and calm. Every where you go, they put hand sanitizers and temperature is taking. I love 💕 it!!!

Slow-checkins, agressive security, incorrect information on the gate signage and a confusing layout. I did not enjoy my time at this airport. The modernist architecture is very nice, but I was happy to have my plane pull out of the gate today

I haven't been on a lot of airports but I can say this is a nice one, there is usually not delays and you can find a lot of airlines. It is also very clean and it has good restaurants. It has been a great experience.

Overall, it’s not a bad airport. Make sure to stay in the less crowded areas because of covid and understand that not everyone will speak English. If you’re staying here for a long time, bring noise-cancellation headphones if you have them because the announcements are really loud. Starbucks offers good Wi-Fi throughout the airport if you order a drink from them - make sure to ask how to access it at the Starbucks because the code can be different than what it says in the receipt.

Mexico City airport is not too bad but it is pretty good the most and it is updating more renovations to terminal 1,
-Make sure that you arrive on time to the airport by 3 hours before departure if your flying in an international flight and domestic 2 hours before departure so that they can get in a very good shape security, if you are not on time they may close your flight.
-Immigration and security lines go fast most of the time at terminal 1 not very much at terminal 2
-few cons is that it takes a while to get our luggages at the carousel and the gate to our flight changes the very last hour or minute
-good thing is that they took the green and red light inspection area away before exiting the baggage claim area the green means you can go and red means you stop and put the luggage in the area when agents inspects and If I would still get red's I would rate this airport as a 3.
    - Lot of places to eat in this airport and lots of shops to buy and lots of spaces to park the car and the parking lot is not bad just that they have to pay and there are elevators provided to go up to the parking lot.
    - There's a lot of restrooms at this airport some are spacious most are the right size and some are very small and there clean.
-Terminal 1 I like more because it is bigger, more airline selections and the lines go fast I would rate T1 as a 4 and Terminal 2 not too bad but more modern and one single airline and lines take longer at immigration and security I would rate it as a 3.

It’s an OK airport. Terminal 1 is in desperate need of renovation or just total replacement. It’s way too small for the amount of people who depend on it. Terminal 2 is definitely an improvement, but still lacks options for shopping and eating. By the way, what’s the deal with all the WINGS restaurants?? There are over 6 of this places. Hopefully, the new airport will be loads better and this place will be no more. Having said that, the current airport is in a very convenient place, only 20 minutes away from major residential areas.

Just passing through to a connecting flight. The staff knew enough English to point me in the right direction. It appeared they were under some sort of construction. I couldn't figure out if or how to connect to the free wifi because the website was in Spanish. That was the worst part for me. I can't wait to go back and visit Mexico some day. Their souvenirs are absolutely beautiful.

A lot better than I expected. After reading various online reviews, I was very hesitant on arriving to this airport.

But, upon arrival, I found the signage adequate, the immigration and customs area just fine and orderly. (about 9pm on a Friday).

Even baggage claim was good. There was an employee that inspected your boarding pass luggage receipt to match the numbers against the luggage you had retrieved prior to going into the customs inspection area. There are free luggage carts too, but you can only take them as far as the taxi stand offices right before you exit the airport. However, there are people who will charge you to push your cart outside directly to the taxi, which I declined.

Note: If you need some pesos for a taxi, only get what you need from the money exchange booth. They overcharge a lot compared to the well known money exchange businesses in the city. So, WAIT until you leave the airport to exchange large sums.

I tried first going to a large commercial bank, but found out that most or all banks don't exchange foreign currency. So, find a reputable exchange retailer and bring along your passport and address to where you're staying.

For safety, get the yellow taxi at the airport. Cost me 150 pesos to travel to a hotel 5 minutes away (like across the street). It's based on distance/zone, not how long it takes. Have the name and address of the hotel written down and the driver will program it in his gps.

On edit: This review describes my experience flying from Dallas, Texas to Mexico City direct via American Airlines, in February 2018 (late evening).

    Hope this helps.

Never ever go through Mexico City to go somewhere else!!!! No easy transfer. Now you must go through immigration, get luggage and then recheck the luggage. We spent over 2 hours waiting in immigration line. Almost missed our connecting flight. Coming from USA is even worse. You can only check bags to Mexico city. Have to back upstairs and recheck them like you were on Mexico City

This was the first time where I flew into Mexico City International Airport. I was wowed with all the staff that they had all around the terminal to help and give information to customers. It was a big airport with a lot if travelers, but I never felt lost or worried about catching my connecting flight considering I dont speak Spanish. The airport was a bit dated, but that didn't affect my experience. I felt like it had character. The staff were all friendly and willing to help me, so that left me at ease.

    Logistical intuition is lacking here:
It's dirty, but there are 1,000s of people "working" everywhere.
Flight information for boarding lists lettered "Halls" rather than the gate number. This is fine if you are late for your flight as the halls are labeled on the outside of the terminal, however if you go through security more than an hour before your departure time you'll have no idea what gate you will depart from until just prior.
Duty free folks speak some English, nobody else does.

Some employees were extremely rude while others were fantastic. Also, while at the gate we missed getting our visas. The person who cought it actually said to me while standing there, you need to go to the immigration the 'bad' people. To much negativity. Personally would not want to go through Mexico City airport Port again.

DOV: June2014 Large airport but with lots of rush. The major thing you have to be careful here is that you have to keep filled immigration form which is attested by the authorities when you enter. On exit they check this and if its missed, there are quiet big procedures you have to do including travelling to another terminal and come back. The customs authorities may make you open your full luggage as well if they see any big material on the scan.

Employees are so rude. No one wants to help you find your gate number. If you’re coming from USA, customs treats you horribly, then you’re pretty much on your own. You dump your luggage and then you’re told to exit and you have to find your way around that. Our flight had a delay and no one told us when or how long the delay was. No new boarding passes, just pretty much try to hear when they call boarding time if you can understand Spanish. This place is disgusting. Never again.

This place is quite literally falling apart. Also flights are often delayed, and your gate might be changed three or four times while waiting for your plane, which means plenty of exercise running up and down a concourse that is easily more than a kilometer long.

Food is expensive in international departures, but if you have time and are up for the walk, there is a food court in the domestic departures section with much cheaper options (some are cash only).

Seating is scarce, so if you care about sitting down, get to your gate earlythat is, if they even assign you one more than ten minutes before boarding.

Finally, the walk to immigration is like a rat maze, and picking up luggage takes forever. The new AICM can't come too soon.

There are so many things wrong with this airport that it's difficult to put in words but I'll try anyways:

    - The airport is very dirty and old.
    - There is no outside view which makes a stay here rather boring.
    - There is barely anything to do over here.
    - The staff barely knows English and has trouble even understanding it.
    - Mistakes that shouldn't be made seem to be easily made, wrong information on the boards for example (they showed the wrong time for my flight).

At least some of the staff seem to be rather friendly and after all my flight still departed perfectly on time.

To call this place and its employees awful is an understatement, it's simply horrible. I was there about a year ago and it seems as though as nothing has changed regarding their poor service performance. The employees at every level and department; from customs to immigration and even the shop keepers and custodians are all unprofessional in their manner.

My first experience began at 3:30 am as my flight arrived along with probably more than half a dozen that same time. As we arrived at the immigration and customs services we were let into a long hall before being seen by an immigration official. However, once there their were practically more than 200 hundred people there all waiting to pass through immigration and only 3 immigration officers processing foreign passports. That crowd of 200 hundred swelled to more than 400 in less than an hour as more flights came in.

One single female officer was trying to bring order to the line of arrivals but when she realized the chaos was to great for her to handle, she simply left. At one point almost a fight broke out because people were cutting the line. People became so desperate that they had to go through the national passports line and hope that the officer there would not turn you down.

I know many are excited over the fact that there is a new airport being built. But if they don't change the way its managed than it might all be for nothing. I can tell you that people were so unpleased that they were promising to steer clear from this place even if it was a conector flight. I don't regret taking a trip to Mexico City I regret going through this airport.

So far my experience have been good, I had issues with flights but is not a problem with the airport! Complicated to find the right way because the signaling is not the best but always I was able to find nice people to help me to find my way! Be aware that not many people speak English so try to learn some Spanish! You might need it!

Employees working at the boarding section, especially at immigration department along side there manager, as well as the currency exchange window, whom had no idea how to convert American dollars to Mexican pesos, where extremely rude and at no help at all. All they knew what to say is to read whatever forms they gave. It seem as they did not have a mouth to speak for themselves and I was speaking Spanish fluently with them. Only a handful of employees took the time to help. I guest customer service is definitely not what they promote there, unless you are at a resort.
