Compared to other Mercados we visited in Mexico this one is dirty and very cramped. That is not to say that you should avoid it. Each Mercado Principal or Municipal is unic in some ways and it's a good place to get a feel for the city and its inhabitants. If you visit a city for a cultural experience, you cannot skip the "Mercado Principal"

If you're a local and want to find deals in meat, vegetables, clothes, or everyday items you usually purchase @ a supermarket, come here you will find it. Otherwise not the best place to come if you are a tourist. This is a typical market in Mexico were the locals come to find cheap items. Kind of like a flea market back in the states but with butcher shops.

El mercado se encuentra en una área bastante céntrica de la ciudad, la actividad comienza desde antes del amanecer y termina al rededor de las 9 de la noche, a pesar de que se nota que necesita ser reconstruido en algunas áreas la actividad no cesa. Se puede encontrar una gran variedad de productos y servicios; desde comida prepara o fresca hasta calzado, ropa y también (si se desea) un corte de cabello. Caminar por su laberíntico centro es toda una aventura.

Lugar muy bueno para hacer las compras. Todo mas fresco que en el super. Es el mercado principal de Campeche. Además hay muchos lugares donde desayunar muy rico y a buen precio.
