Not really a beach resort - the waves are too strong to swim, and the beach is narrow and steep, not owned by the resort, and has many locals hanging out wanting to sell you something or ask for a handout.
There are pools, OK restaurants, and room service. Advised by company security not to leave the resort, and to only use a few trusted car companies to go to the airport.
With all this - why travel all the way to Cabo, instead of going somewhere else with a few more options, and lot more safety and pleasant environment? No complaints about the room or food - but there are so many other, better options elsewhere.response / report this review -

We were staying in the hotel in the beginning of January, it was the first trip to Mexico and we had truly amazing experience. The hotel has beautiful territory, big swimming pools, several restaurants and bars. We’ve always got top level service at the reception, while dining or of room service. There is also a small entertainment team offering a range of sport activities during the day.

Over priced. The beach is unsafe. The pools are cold. The restaurants have limited selection. I have stayed at 3 stars with better food. Staff is more interested in huddling together and talking to each other. Unhelpful front desk staff. Tried to charge me for an extra person for the nights I never had an extra person even though I notified them of the same the moment I checked in. Checked out and into the Westin next door for half price, better service, better beach, and better food. Will never be staying again at this hotel.

My husband and I visited Marquis Los Cabos on a business trip. We have since then never experience such great service. Our visit was in February of 2014, and we would love to go back. We encountered wonderful friendly staff, and breathtaking views. Each morning we woke up to whales jumping in the ocean outside our window.
The event staff was absolutely amazing. The only name I can remember is Miguel, but he along with the others, were absolutely phenomenal. We played beach volleyball every day and had such a great time. Miguel was a wonderful activities coordinator, and we looked forward to seeing him every day! I highly recommend this resort, you will not be disappointed.response / report this review -

This was our second time visiting the Marquis and the experience was phenomenal. Good food and outstanding service. By the pool, Joseph was amazingly attentive and courteous. He was always there to get us food or a drink and was very personable.
I can’t begin to define how amazed I was by the French Restaurant, Canto Del Mar. Sergio, Jorge, and Diego provided amazing service. Very attentive to our needs and the food rivaled some of our favorite fine dining establishments back home. We has the pleasure of having the duck as one of our entrees and it was cooked perfectly. The executive chef does a great job in preparing this food and we look forward to returning to try his creations next year.
The main bar was great and relaxing for nightlife. With something to do every night there and personable and friendly bartenders and servers. Having spent 10 days at this resort we got to know Adan, Ricardo, and Cesar very well. After the first day, they knew our favorite drink, remembered where we were from, and provided a personal experience that you generally only see when you are a regular at a local pub. Our glass was never less than 1/4 full before they were right there to ask if we wanted more.
All in all, the entire staff at the Marquis is amazing and they made our second trip to this resort a stunning experience.response / report this review -

We had an amazing time at the Marquis! We have been to Mexico 5x in the last 5 years and this was our first time to Cabo. The food was great, the views were fantastic, and the service was top notch. Our pool server Humburto Briones was hands down the best server we have ever had and Karina from the Entertainment Team kept everyday fun and exciting.

The pool was a little dangerous in get in the steps after the third going down with swirling water and sun and the steps could not be seen going down or coming up with the movement of the water but the pools were wonderful and the service was great. Its been over 2 weeks from the time I gave 3 postcards to be mailed from the male attendant at front desk and they have never been received here, probably sitting on someones desk and not mailed. They don't tell you this but you can order off the menu at the Mexican restaurant like a hamburger which I found out about on my last two days. Service was good. Loved the Japanese restaurant.

Beautiful resort. Ceviche is amazing! Drinks are hit or miss! Very sweet and not consistent in flavor. Location is far from town and it's pricy to go elsewhere. Least favorite part - no dancing or music on weekends. A little sleepy if you like to go to celebrate. It's kind of a go read a book by the beach and stand in the pool resort. Staff was awesome, friendly and fun!!

I've stayed at a lot of resorts over the years and Marquis is by far the best. The resort is amazing from the outdoor lobby to the suite rooms. The customer service is what I really want to talk about. The staff here were amazing. Adriana and Florinda in the restaurant felt like family. They went above and beyond the call of duty. Gabriel in the Sake restaurant kudos to this guy right here. My bartender Marcelino salute to him..The pool staff was excellent. Everyone deserves commendations. To the General Manager of this resort whoever you are please take time to recognize these people for a job well done. For the many customers I saw not tipping shame on you, and to future customers don't let that be you.don't be cheap, grab that tip money from the bank before you leave. Marquis I will be back.

Our experience at this hotel was exceptional in every way. The room was fantastically well taken care of. The restaurants were excellent and the service was the best part. The people made our stay stellar. Our visit(s) to Sakke were made extra special by our Waiter - Gabriel Rodriguez. He treated us like royalty.

We had a really wonderful time. The staff were so friendly and gracious and worked really hard. They all deserve a week at a resort 😊The resort was gorgeous, the beach clean and the food great. My one regret is that I would have loved a better wine selection😊 Overall a great stay and will definitely be back.

We took our first trip to Los Cabos staying at the Marquis via a Costco travel trip and we LOVED it! No worries getting to and from the airport as Costco provided transportation and then to see the blue water beyond the infinity pool was magical. Our room was lovely too. We have never taken an all inclusive vacation before. I didn't think sitting by a pool was my style as we are hikers and outdoorsybut this was just what we needed for our souls. The staff were polite and attentive without being "in your face". I wish I could tell you all of their namesFlorinda & Martin were delightful at the Mexican restaurant, which was our favoritemainly because we like to eat outside all of the time. Oscar too as well as the two adorable hostesses. While tips are not required, we enjoyed giving them. We took a horseback ride on the beach, swam in the ocean just down the beach in front of the Hilton, swam every day in the pools, played Black Jack and corn holejust great. There are just too many nice things I could say about this place! From a very friendly and courteous staff to the restaurants which each and every one of them served mouth-wateringly delicious food; to the spectacular room accommodations and the overall high quality of the entire Resort this is an exceptional vacation spot! AMAZING!!!!! The ENTIRE EXPERIENCE!!! Hotel Staff was AMAZING!!! The Views BREATHTAKING!! Mario was Always offering Fun Activities with Fun Positive Energy even though we said No to almost Everything! :) Always a smile on his face! Next time I'll do MORE!:) Oscar greeted us from the Beginning and Took Care of ANYTHING We needed!! Literally!! THE MOST RELAXING Experience, constantly Surrounded by BEAUTIFUL SCENERY EVERYWHERE we Looked!!! We were chilly at dinner, and they Brought us Blankets!! Literally, the staff here are the Best I've Ever Encountered Anywhere!!! Just so FRIENDLY!!! My friends and I had one of OUR BEST VACATIONS we've EVER had!! and Can't Wait To Come Back!!!:))) oh and you can SPOT WHALES while just sitting POOLSIDE!!! NO Boat Required!!!:))) Oh yea, Oscar Brought me a Wheelchair b/c I arrived to this small slice of Heaven on Crutches! THANK YOU TO EVERYONE AT MARQUIS LOS CABOS!!!:)))
