Amazing place. Highly recommend and the preserve you go to is not populated like the other ones.

Great B&B with lots of charm. Lots of rooms and common space as well, great yard and roof top. The town is the cutest and friendliest little town in Mexico. A great family place, can't wait to come back one day.

spent 5 days at JM Butterfly B&B with my son, it was a wonderful experience. The owners made us feel as if we were a part of the family. We had an excellent time, from the driver who picked us up at the airport in Mexico City ( thank you Javier), to the day trips with Joel and Roger. Oh yeah, and the butterflies were amazing. The time spent in Macheros met all of my expectations.

Very nice hotel with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. Most of their facilities are brand new. It's located only a few blocks from the butterfly sanctuary park entrance and cost about $65-70 for a double room during butterfly season.

We also took the $75 (per person) dollar guided tour they offer to the sanctuary. The butterflies are absolutely incredible especially if the weather is warm enough for them to fly around. The tour itself was good. The trails up the butterflies are in pretty poor condition from all the horses that are used for the area tour groups.

If your comfortable speaking Spanish you can easily arrange your own guide at the park entrance for about half the price. There are also guide services available in the next town over El Capulín.

Really enjoyed our couple of days here, very tranquil and relaxing spot with a nice view to chill with a beer after a day's activities. Would've enjoyed a third night if we had more time!
