Paraiso surreal.
Beautiful Island, very calm ambiance, crystal clear waters will defiantly return.
Amazing place, if you want to know what heaven feels like, come here and feel it. I felt in love every second. Take the ferry from Chiquila, there is a lot of parking spaces if you rented a car, its safe and cheap not more than 100 per day.
Isla Holbox has sandy streets, colorful Caribbean buildings, lazing, sun-drunk dogs, and sand so fine it's texture is nearly clay. The greenish waters are a unique color from the mixing of ocean currents, and on land there's a mixing too: of locals and tourists, the latter hoping to escape the hubbub of Cancún.
Not a place for everyone. Be careful and be sure to know what you want in a vacation before you come here.
Great experience on Isla Holbox; casual small village atmosphere, people are friendly and accommodating. I hope they can hold off corporate development, not get overwhelmed by touring visitors. We were impressed with the dog friendly life styles of both young and old. We made a couple visits and donations to local animal shelter. Refugio Holbox (make a visit).
The Island seems sincere in keeping
Yum Balam Nature Reserve as primary vision.
We look forward to visiting again soon.
This place is just amazing . A majority of the Island is virgin . Please take into consideration to rent a bike instead of a golf cart. Let's try to preserve this beautiful paradise .
Getting to the island is a bit a of a hassle from Cancun airport, but if you need some days to unwind this is the perfect place for you: gorgeous beaches, good prices and a very relaxed atmosphere. No big AI hotels, no malls and no traffic. We went for the day and are now planning to go back for at least a week.
