As a female traveling alone, I felt very comfortable and safe in this location, a short walking distance from the border, in the heart of shopping and medical/dental tourism. It's an older building, so it's like stepping back a few decades, before fancy electronics (I'm fine with the peace and quiet and a good book). The accommodations are basic and clean. I had a good night sleep after eating at the Restaurant Sinaloa (downstairs), and no problem communicating with staff. *It's good practice to learn a a few basics in the language of the country hosting you ;-)

Best place that I know of to stay in Nogales. Cheap, convenient, friendly staff, clean rooms, plenty of hot water with GREAT water pressure in the shower, decent wifi and I have never had an issue with security.

Had the Albodigas soup there. Clean and reasonable. Serve pepitas and they were so hot but tasty. Fresh tortillas. Short walk from the dentist but worth it.
