Amazing location, beautiful setting and layout, friendly staff. They do everything to ensure your stay is comfortable. Truly paradise.

Nice hotel right on the beach at Akumal Bay. Great amenities on the property including the Dive Center, Lol Ha Restaurant, other walkable eateries and shops, and the bay itself. We stayed during low season and it felt like we had the place to ourselves. No frills (and no TVs), but clean, safe, and steps from the Caribbean sea. Resort staff were friendly and helpful and made us feel at home.

The Akumal Caribe hotel is nice and the ambience around it is relaxing. This is not a large chain hotel like Hyatt, Hilton, or Windham. The hotel is locally owned and its an aged place but fairly well kept. I will go and detail my opinion based on positives and the "not so good"
Positives:
+ location = super close to the beautiful beach of Akumal. Just 100 feet or 30 meters to the beach. There are many shops, and a couple of places to eat within walking distance of the hotel. There is a nearby " Oxxo" 24 / 7 minimarket, which is the local Mexican version of Seven eleven.
+ Quietness= you can sleep at night relaxed without the loud music or the drunk people banging doors or party animals making noise.
+ Rooms= clean and organized
+ Staff= courteous and kind staff willing to help you and provide you with useful information.
Not so good:
- Room space: not enough for three people to sleep comfortable as we had two full beds in our room. We ordered a rollaway bed but it was not good nor comfortable for our son to sleep in it, So we turned it back.
- Included breakfast: its continental but in limited size and Not buffet. The breakfast is sereved at the Lol Ha reastaurant, which os in the hotel premises. The include breakfast includes a plate of fruit cuts with papaya, pinapple, watermelon, juice and tea and toasted bread. If you want eggs , omeletts, ham, cheese or other you will pay extra. However the food tickets for the continental breakfast are good for paying for a full breakfast plus the difference in price.
In general I had a relaxing and cool time during my stay.response / report this review -

Our bungalow was one of eight (four duplexes) arranged around a patio like a Formative period village plan. We stayed for three nights. The first night I woke about 4 AM to hear water running. I got up (my roommate is deaf when he takes out his hearing aids at night) to take of it. But as soon as my feet hit the floor they were in water. Using my phone as a flashlight quickly discovered the problem was a leaking toilet tank. Easy fix right? Just reach down and turn off the water supply valve. In this case, wrong. The valve didn't have a handle and required a wrench to turn it. So I put a towel across the floor at the bathroom door to channel the leaking water into the shower. Then I walked up to the restaurant and bar complex to find a night watchman. He took the room number and told me to return and he'd send someone. Within a couple of minutes two workers (including the watchman) arrived at the room. They had a wrench and used a squeegee to return the water on the floor to the shower drain. In addition they returned and repaired the toilet when we were out for breakfast. Fast, quick, and efficient is my view of the staff. After the early morning adventure (that made an interesting breakfast story) we enjoyed the Club Akumal Caribe.

Awesome place! Akumal is a really cool place. The hotel is fantastic. Everyone is very friendly and the place is really clean. We did our first couple of scuba dives here and it was amazing.

Great stay so far, amazing location, but the amazing staff really bring it all together. Great room, very comfortable and clean, kind of a hidden gem among the larger resorts.
