Price is ok. Pool is like a big bathtub. Construction and painting was going on. The many volunteers are their own group and set the mood for the whole place.

I was joining some friends for dinner and a drink from the bar which was great value and pretty tasty. They had a live bar which was great for the people who wanted to dance and socialise however I spoke to a few guests who wanted to sleep with the band playing just outside their door. I understand there's a lack of space so a comprimise must be made but if you are someone who likes an early night bring some ear plugs for the weekends. They commented that the rooms are of average cleanliness but nothing to write home about but for the price you pay it is good value and a great location in the town of tulum

Nice hostel, chill atmosphere. Will definetaly come back to get to know the area more. It's very affordable and convenientaly located in a great area. The staff is not the best but the food thing is that they make everything easy for you to not have to bother them. Rooms have cold a.c. blasting for those hot summer days and nights.
They have special nights where they make food like pizza empanadas etc. To be honest the food is not the best but it's affordable if you are on a budget. Be careful with your stuff as while I was there I witnessed atleast 3 people loose items suddenly like keys wallet phones etc.

There is a strong Spanish presence so be prepared to stumble upon prepotentuous Spanish individuals. Bartender was cool but seemed like he was on drugs.

Fun hostel. Good bbq night. Comfortable beds, if you need them. Some showers have hot water. I advise against using the laundry service as they over charge and nothing can be done about it. (3kgs for 150 pesos)

Definitely more of a "party hostel" vibe. It was very crowded on the night we stayed and there was live music that went very late. They were doing Empanada night which meant the kitchen wasn't available for use. Great for a younger crowd that wants to mingle.

If you want to rest, this is not the hostel for it. Music every day and night. From 8 in the morning all the way til next day 1am. You just have that small window of opportunity to sleep less than 8 hrs. Even ear plugs are useless.

Nice hostel! Smaller than the Che Tulum. I prefer this one. However still music until around 00:30 am. After that you won't hear anything. Pizzas at the pizza night were the best I ever had!! (And I've been to Italy twice!!)

Great hostel, friendly staff and the breakfast is really nice. The only criticism would be that the wifi isn't great, so if you want to put your phone down for a few days then good for you! :)

Have to agree with other reviews, the actual hostel was great and had a good atmosphere but the majority of time the staff really didn't know what was going on. Would urge the owners to try and hire some locals who really care about the hostel as their job and sharing the best of Tulum with visitors!

The place is beautiful, unfortunately the staff is really bad.

We booked a suite with my girlfriend and one of her friend for one night. Unfortunately the A/C was brokered in consequence of a storm. We tried to sleep but it was really warm and humid (we were there in september) and my girlfriend started to have headache and didn't feel well.
We went at the reception twice to ask for a fan or a place in the dormitory in which the A/C was working.

The guy responsible of the reception was more focused on his target at the bar than his duty. He answered us he was new and didn't know what to do. We finally move to the youth hostel next door.

The next morning at the breakfast, all the staff where congratulating loud one of their member in spanish about his sexual story on the previous night

I know the storm was something unplanned but I never saw such a level of unprofessionalism in a youth hostel before and trust me I travelled enough sleeping in these kind of place to know what I am talking about. It's normal and preferable in a youth hostel that the staff enjoy too, but don't forget people pay for your service.

Just for the end of the story, we didn't received any discount or refund for the night we didn't spend there.
There is lot of good hotel in Tulum so don't go to that place.

Great hostel. Nice atmosphere as it's small enough that you end up knowing most people there. Air con always on in the dorms is a lifesaver in the Tulum heat. BBQ and food nights are awesome! All you can eat for a decent price. The only negative is that they charge $100 for a day bike hire and the bikes are falling apart.
