Description
The Summer Law Institute in Guanajuato, Mexico was administered by a consortium of four law schools that included: Southwestern Law School, Texas Tech University School of Law, Universidad de Guanajuato Facultad de Derecho, and University of New Mexico School of Law. The program was founded in 1989, and offered a thorough introduction to Mexican Law and International Law subjects related to the United States and Latin America. Our final summer program took place in 2016 (our 27th year of operation). Despite the importance of Mexico as a U.S. trading partner and strategic geopolitical ally, the interest among law students for a study abroad experience in Mexico diminished as law school costs increased and concerns of safety (whether real or imagined) increased over the years. We LOVE to hear from the hundreds of alumni from our program, and hope you will leave us a note of your most cherished memories of the program.
