Great little place. Loved the food here. The front is a little off putting but once you actually get into the restaurant, you’ll see that the place is much bigger and nicer than expected. They have some really authentic and spicy options if you’re up for the challenge.

A good place, with very good food. Place is hidden behind a taco stand that shares its name. Place is nice, but don't be fooled with people saying it is a lot cheaper than other restaurants. It is SLIGHTLY cheaper than other places. Overall a great place to eat if you're in cancun, I really enjoyed their octopus and lobster here. Most likely a must if you're visiting Cancun.

We all love El Fish Fritanga.
This time we have 19 family members with us and one of them a grand-son is turning 12 on Wednesday. His request for bithday dinner is El Fish Fritanga.
So a few of us took him there this evening - making two birthday dinners. We all had different dishes and they were all excellent.
We have visited Cancun 8 times and always eat at El Fish Fritanga twice each visit. We just love the place.

One of the best fish restaurants I experienced at all times. They serve delicious food at a very reasonable price. Do not get a starter for yourself because the portions are big enough for two. Main course is enough by itself and very nice arranged on the plate. Thus place is a display of mexican hospitality. A must go!

Excellent little restaurant! From the road it looks like nothing special but go around to the back and walk down the stairs to find a little waterfront beach seating area. Food was great. Coconut shrimp especially good. The prices are great, especially for location in the hotel zone. Highly recommended.

Great food service and ambiance. On the sand by the lagoon. The fish ceviche is amazing. You can also have them prepare fish you caught.

Very reasonably priced and delicious! Get the Mexican style shrimp tacos and the corn ice cream for dessert. Check in on Yelp for a free strawberry daiquiri

Excellent prices, wonderful food. The outside looks very deceiving, had this restaurant not been recommended we would not have paid any attention to it. We thoroughly enjoyed .😎😎

Solid food in an outdoor setting right on the beach. Two tips: the Fritanga dishes are no joke. Face sweating heat from chili de arbol sauce that will make even a spicy food fan struggle to complete the entire meal. Second: get the shrimp, any shrimp dish. Tasted super fresh and not overcooked or chewy at all.

DO NOT BE FOOLED BY ENTRANCE! This is by far the best place I’ve been to here in Cancun! The four cheese pasta with chicken was AMAZING! If I come back to Cancun I will most definitely come back. The waiters were very nice and helpful. Here you can find live music. It specializes in seafood, it’s great for families and couples. The prices are unbeatable in comparison to the rest in the Hotel Zone. If there were 10 stars, I would give it 20!!!

Best place we ate at in Cancun. The octopus is the best I've had anywhere, super tender and flavourful. If you're into seafood, this place is a must visit. Oh and it's quite affordable as well.

Great atmosphere and service for a casual dining restaurant. Open air beach dining in a casual atmosphere with great affordable seafood. Make sure you fine the restaurant down the stairs in the back. Only the fast food bar at street level.

We ate down back by the harbor. Party of 8, sat us right away on a Saturday night. Lighting is very dim, the menu difficult to read. Brought us our drinks and chips with salsa quickly and took our food order. Food took a while to get, ran out of chips, salsa and drinks, server was no where to be found.
Food was very good, service was terrible. Not cheap. Only found 1 bug in our chips. Not going back.response / report this review -

Always a dining favorite.lay back, no frills atmosphere.sand floor, directly on the lagoon.
Food is consistenty good. Price very reasonable. Fried fish (looking at you) my favorite.

Reasonably priced and great service. We ordered the crab soup and the grill seafood combo for 2 people. The food was delicious! Definitely recommend going there.

You gotta stop and visit El Fish Fritanga if you are in or visiting the Cancun area! The restaurant is nestled right down on the lagoon and the atmosphere is very quaint and charming. The food is absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced at that. I highly recommend the oysters and the fish tacos! Also if you are in the mood for some entertainment order a margarita, they will carry it out on top of their head to the table!

Good ambience, good food, nice people. Its a nice affordable restaurant right besides the lagoon. The Fish fry is really worth it. The entrance is not very clearly visible. You will have to go behind and down to reach the restaurant.

This place was good! Food was fresh, tasty and the view downstairs was nice. There are better restaurants downtown and elsewhere (see other reviews). But I can't complain with the food here especially for the price in hotel zone
