  We didn’t read about this in our guidebooks but just stumbled upon it. One of the best days in our trip so far. Thank you to the older gentleman who walked with us some of the way and told us about the animals. His passion for wildlife and conservation was infectious. The signs are in English as well as Spanish and really well set out. A must see when in Palenque.

  Small independently run reserve, only 100$ mexican pesos to enter. We loved it, it's a nice walk around, interesting animals, some due to be released back into the wild, others rescued and well looked after. The black panther my favourite. Definitely worth a visit

  One of our best experiences in Palenque and Mexico in general. The place is fantastic and their work to support vulnerable animals is of great importance. This is not a typical zoo as animals are in their natural habitats and some of them roam free around you!! Walking the trail and being in the jungle was equally exciting as seeing animals and birds. Thanks Aluxes for the memories and for the work you have been doing.

  Wonderful place with good cause. Lots of pretty animals. You feel like in the wild, it's quiet and so natural. The animals obviously have a good care. Highly recommend it.

  THE BEST PART OF MY TRIP. We went on the night tour which was 1200 mxn which is $64 for up to four people.. i thought at the time it was a lot of money for mexico but after seeing what great work they do here and all the animals they helped to protect it was definately worthwhile. The tour is given by biologists voluntering at the ecoparque and local guides who are familiar with the natural jungle habitat. The tour was given in spanish and i'm not sure if its always the case so worth asking but even if you can't speak the language the experience itself is very worthwhile. You get see and feed many animals int the park, which is semi enclosed for which they give great reasoning as to why it must be that way. My favourite part where the manaties (which you feed) and the tapir. Its an incredibly tactile experience and exhilarting to see many wild nocturnal animales in such an organic way. They also highlight the plight of many of these native endangered species. Another great part of this project is that have helped reintroduce the native macaw population which had become extinct and are using modern technologies alongside ancient practises to help in this great conservation project. Great work and a really great experience!

  This is a beautiful place. The animals are well cared for and the staff is very friendly. My wife had a great time feeding the manatees.

  If you need a break from the ruins, this is the place to go. Lots different animals to see, and they don't appear to be kept in inhumane, zoo-like conditions.
  
  Highly recommend feeding the manatees! They are ridiculous creatures!
