I have travelled to over 80 countries and this was one of the best meals we have ever had. Food was cooked to perfection. Loved the incredible winelist and selection. This is not for the budget traveller. Exceptional food, service and atmosphere. My teenage daughters said it was one of their best meals ever and want to go back before we return to Vancouver. If there were 7 STARS this restaurant would get it from me!!!

Good food and service, I was expecting a regular Mexican food.of course not, Don Sanchez is a gourmet Mexican food restaurant and the prices are among reasonable.

Mediocre with a unjustified high prices. Service is ok. Live elevator music all night. Not sure how I survived the whole dinner, and frankly not feeling that great after the meal.

This place was absolutely delicious! The atmosphere is very quaint and intimate, with not a lot of tables in the main dining area, the noise level stays pretty low.
The place has one menu but with three basic concepts, the garden, the sea, and the ranch. From our experience, the ranch had the best dishes all around. We started off with the oysters, bone marrow, and yellowtail sashimi. The oysters were fresh but the flavors just didn't work well, between the foam and the watermelon, the thing was a mess. The bone marrow was phenomenal, it just leaves you wanting more. If there's more than two people at the table, definitely order more than one. For the sashimi, having been caught earlier that day and now served on my plate, I could not ask for a greater piece of seafood. The bone marrow and sashimi balanced out quite nicely between the rich savoryness of the marrow and the fresh crisp taste if the yellowtail, 10/10.
For the main meal, my wife and I ordered something from the sea and something from the ranch. The braised short ribs with mushroom risotto was perfect. While the Seafood Chilpachole was definitely missing something, at least a rice. The stew caused the seafood to overcook and become super rubbery.
Overall, My wife and I came here to have a nice dinner and celebrate the fact we were on vacation and, even with a few dishes that fell flat, we were not disappointed. We will definitely be back next year.response / report this review -
