This place might be ok for Mexicans but if you are a tourist you most avoid it at all cost. They will reap you off. How about $800 USD they charged my friend for a orthopedic walker boot? They go for no more than $170 USD. Obviously they take advantage of anyone they can. I wish I had been there .

I'm a tourist from Florida. I fractured my leg on the beach next to the hospital. World class nurses and doctors. Truly world class. But prices are probably the highest of any hospital. 5 hrs in ER and the bill was almost $3000. They immobilizer my leg by rapping it proffessionaly and asked me for $15000 for a 2 hr surgery to put a plate in. And since this is america prices, I chose to go back to Florida and use their hospitals.

I was having stomach problems so I went to see a gastroenterologist at Costa Med. Great service and good facility. They do have two price rates, one for locals and one for tourists. My bill was very reasonable and I was satisfied with the service I received.

They ask for a $2000 USD deposit for anyone who needs emergency care. I understand it is a deposit but I'm fairly certain they will do everything they can to ramp up the bill and meet or get very close to that number. Coming from someone who has lived in Mexico for over 10 years this is a complete rip off unless you need major surgery. They won't give you a set price until after you talk to the doctor and already owe them money ($50 USD which is also overpriced for a consultation) even if you know exactly what's wrong. Make sure you are fully covered by your insurance or stay away. Go to Tulum Hospital down the road instead. They will still overcharge but it's not as bad.

I received excellent, attentive care here while I was sick. Dr. Ponce de Leon did a thorough exam and diagnosis. All of the nursing staff was outstanding in particular the ER room nurse, Diego was incredibly caring and attentive. The clinic was immaculate. I highly recommend Costamed if you need medical help.

I had a difficult operation and Dr. Ponce de León is the best surgeon you can find, he is a true doctor. Staff is friendly bust mostly very professional. Instalations are brand new. It is a hospital so don't expect clinic prices, which are not so high. Don't hesitate to go to the hospital, health comes first.

    Horrible Tourist Trap,

Was sent there by cruise staff after my daughter fell ill, they basically extort you and run test that are not needed, then will not let you leave unless you pay them. In our case over $8500 for constipation.

    Stay away.

Mi hija se corto 3 puntadas y un calmante a un precio exorbitante El servicio fue bueno pero no se ajustan a la realidad del país en cuanto a precios. Si eres un Mexicano promedio de la clase trabajadora alejate.

Dont go here if you are a tourist. Ring your insurance company first and find the right hospital, it'll probably be in playa del carmen. They told me they were contacting my insurance, took two xrays and because I thought they were paired with my insurance company I paid the excess of 80 pounds sterling, the receptionist actually converted 89. When she knew I only needed to pay for the xrays. However the nurses, doctors and radiologist I couldn't fault. I just think always ring your insurance company to save losing money like i did.
