"Bellas Artes", as this place is called for short, is a cultural and architectural treasure. An old convent, now it shows tastefully curated cutting edge visual artists in its galleries. It is the home of a youth orchestra, and on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings in it's magnificent dance studio, it hosts free form dance waves in the 5 Rhythms tradition.

Used to be an art school turned into a gallery. Thered an interesting hallway where you're not allowed to photograph anything. Do it anyway.

Worth wandering in to see the restored old convent and its beautiful courtyard. Ground floor salons house temporary and permanent art exhibits while on the second floor are rooms for ceramics and fine arts classes, as well as a lecture hall. The bulletin board at the building's entrance is a good place to check for upcoming lectures, music, and other happenings throughout San Miguel. FYI, most people in SMA call it "Bellas Artes."
