Our last stop on the way back to Cancun from Chichen itza. Some old historical that you may want to check out. In front of the church is a nice park, that you can take a walk to see around.

History is interesting but would not spend more that a couple of minutes here. People sit on the pews and pray but you can walk through it and see the church. It is not full of gaudy things or art. Right in front of the park in the square so it is easy to access on a walk through town.

This is a nice cathedral. It has an interesting history because it was built by the Mayans who once lived here using the stones from their own temples. The city, though a major tourist stop for people on their way to Chichen Itza, is still old Mexico and is a good place to rest along the way and enjoy un paleto ice cream.

This is an old church, it has some small statues of old Spanish saints.
The church is not in its best conditions but it is still in use.

Beautiful cathedral that portrays the typical spanish catholism in the early start of mexico. There's a plaza in front of the church where entertainment and local Marquesitas are located. Try the Marquesitas that are sold in the plaza, always great to try the local food.

One of the most ancient catholic churches in Mexico. It's nice to see from outside. Inside you may find it a little bit creepy, or without charme. Anyway, this church, and its little town, it's a must see place if you wanna see a bit of "real Mexico", and not just the rich & touristic East side coast.
