Fabulous! The Mask Museum was world class and Bill is an amazing host.

I wish I never had to leave. Everyday starts with incredible homemade breakfast served in two courses. The first course being fresh fruit and yogurt with granola toast and jellies. The second course was hot food prepared fresh by the three Cooks it was a different meal every day and each day you were left satisfied without the need to eat again until 3 p.m. in the afternoon. On site there are two incredible opportunities to learn about post Hispanic Mexican Ceremonial Masks and Mexican Folk Art. Please see the very hospitable hosts Bill and Heidi to make an appointment to visit their cultural facilities, many people come to the location just to visit the folk art gallery & Mask Museum.
The rooms are beautiful and clean with plenty of hot water and room to move around. There are more than half dozen great places to view the surrounding area from. There is also a nice Honor Bar located near the hummingbird feeders and I promise you the hummingbirds do not disappoint.
All of the great attractions of San Miguel de Allende are within walking distance of the facility. A very inexpensive cab ride can be had at all times of the day that will take you anywhere in the city for a little over $3 including tip.
This is the most comfortable place I've ever stayed at. The staff were courteous efficient and friendly. The hosts arranged for massages on site for my wife and I on more than one occasion. Everyday you can see gorgeous sunsets from a variety of terraces and patios.
My favorite part of the experience was the time I got to spend with Heidi and Bill the skillful owners and curators of Casa de la Cuesta. They seem to effortlessly run a top notch operation that provides everything a guest needs to experience San Miguel de Allende. The beautiful couple arranged our airport transfers, gave us great tours of their cultural facilities, served a delicious breakfast every day, provided knowledgeable concierge service, shared their experience of building and growing their wonderful B&B and made us feel like we belonged in their home. It was an incredible treat to stay at the Casa de la Cuesta.response / report this review -

Absolutely wonderful stay. The entire place is filled with interesting art (some made by Heidi, the amazing host/proprietor). We had such a good time here. The breakfast is amazing, you start you day with a bountiful meal with several courses! There was even a surprise birthday cake for another guest. Don't forget to visit their mask museum, a collection of ~1000 masks from many local cultures. Truly spectacular and will definitely stay again if we return to San Miguel!

We did not stay as guest but did visit the Mask Museum and it was spectacular! The entire place looked magnificent.

Me parece muy triste que en mi propio país los extranjeros me traten de manera grosera. La persona que nos recibió a mi hermana y a mí nos contestó de una manera muy soberbia, ante lo cual, sólo respondimos amablemente porque nosotros si tenemos la educación que a ella le faltó. México es un país hermoso y San Miguel de Allende un lugar encantador, están exponiendo máscaras mexicanas, al menos tengan la decencia de tratar bien a las personas que van y podría recalcar que aún más si somos del país que les está dando la bienvenida.

I recently stayed in this wonderful bed and breakfast as a single tourist for a week. The owners Heidi and Bill could not be a nicer couple and very accommodating to all my needs. Heidi even offered me some pizza and salad the night I arrived which was around 10:30. The breakfasts were outstanding every morning with a variety of items including yogurt, fresh fruit, toast , eggs and usually a different Mexican side dish. There was always plenty to eat. My room was very nice and decorated in my favorite color blue with beautiful tile work throughout the bathroom including the bathtub. It had a nice sitting area along with a fireplace. The decoration was lovely with Mexican art work throughout. I was always given a fresh container of water every day so I never had to go out and buy any. One of the things I thoroughly enjoyed was watching the hummingbirds by my room, I had never seen so many in one area.The view from my balcony overlooked the city showing the famous Parroque church. I would definitely recommend this bed and breakfast to anyone going to San Miguel.

Casa de la Cuesta was wonderful! We stayed in "Roman Lopez" and loved the very special outdoor living space where we could sit in the afternoon and enjoy the cool breezes and watch the clouds of hummingbirds at the feeders while sipping a beverage from the "honor bar." The service exceeded all of our expectations, and the atmosphere was friendly and gracious. Breakfast was a great opportunity to meet and greet guests and catch up on what others had done the day before and were planning for that day. The breakfast meal was superb, with a change in the menu every day. Bill and Heidi have created a perfect oasis in the middle of San Miguel.

We visited Casa de la Cuesta a few years back, I met my husband in San Miguel de Allende and went back after 7 years, we loved Casa de la Cuesta, kid's free, so pretty and breakfast was amazing. Wish we could go back and visit again.
