We were looking for a camping experience in the jungle so we found out about this place. We have read some comments about it and we were very looking fwd to head to Calakmul area.
As soon as we arrived the manager/owner talk to us through a window -without answering a 'good evening' and or show the face-. And we start asking questions, we have stay in places like this but never in Campeche jungle. A lady (who we supposed it s another manager/owner) say -without introduction- "you better see the tents, are high standard".
Two staff guys show us the place. This two staff guys are nice and kind, they answer our questions and make a couple jokes.We see the tent and it is ok. NOTHING SPECIAL NOR COZY: doesn't have to be with 'high standard' description. Regular tent with two matress.
I ask if we can have an smaller tent with a double bed and they told us that the price is the same if you sleep in a shared bed or in a double bed tent. Prices are for person, from what they said. Last question: is breakfast included? (in many accommodation around they include a morning meal and or coffee) No, it is 150 pesos.
After visiting the camping we decided not to stay, and the main reason why we didn't spend the night was the rude attitude of the manager/owner who used sarcasm to answer every question we made about the camping and the services. He might think we must knew EVERYTHING about his camping before arriving.
Now you guys know it: regular tents with matress inside and rude guy around. You welcome.
Compared with the accommodation you can find around the area the prices are too high. Conhuas town it's only 3kms from Calakmul entrance and there are cabañas with private bathroom and breakfast (and hospitality included) included.
If the camping experience it's about dealing with rude managers. This would be your ideal accommodation.response / report this review -

Las tiendas de campaña están grandes y tienen 2 colchones tamaño matrimonial, las sábanas y cobijas muy limpias, las fundas de las almohadas encantadoras bordadas a mano. La comida fresca, tortillas hechas a mano, excelente atención. Fué muy confortable nuestra estancia ahí.

Wonderful camp in the woods. Don't expect any amenities, these are basic living conditions in the jungle. Great experience!

Precios desmedidos ya que no hay relación precio-calidad a parte de que es un cuchitril. En este sitio buscan que los visitantes sepan que hay alternativas para ahorrar agua y contaminar lo menos posible, pero se pasaron: los baños no cuentan con iluminación, hay un hueco de tamaño considerado en el Ares de retrete que si no te das cuenta tu pie sepuedeir hasta el fondo. Las regaderasque no son regaderas porque te bañas literalmente a gicarazos no cuentan con nada de iluminación. El dueño es un verdadero engreido que responde mal por todo y para todo.
Si tienen oportunidad acampen en otro sitio.
Esta es mi opinión de acuerdo a lo vivido, pero "cada quien habla como le fue en la feria"response / report this review -

Un lugar para relajarte y dejar fuera la tecnología la comida chatarra y el estré, acampas con mucha tranquilidad, el costo del camping llevando tu casa es de $100, lo único caro es la comida del lugar..Los baños y regaderas son 100% ecologicos, ya que son letrinas y te bañas con agua de lluvia

a camp site in the middle of the jungle well maintained. The bird watching tower is fun to climb (a bit scary too). They have food a bit expensive but in the middle of nowhere The bad point is that there is no real option they try to organise to go see the ruins. You either have to pay a lot or hitchhike. Hitchhike worked fine for us.

Esta bueno el lugar lastima de la mala atención que tienen soy operador turístico ase unas semanas estube en este lugar y el señor fernando con una muy mala actitud prepotente nunca le vuelvo a llevar turismo

Very cozy campground and family-run restaurant. There was a community of howler monkeys living in the trees above, so bring some earplugs! The campground was very ecological: rainwater showers, compost toilets, recycling bins A true jungle experience off the beaten path.
