We wanted to go on a fishing trip. We were driving around the marina and found this place. They said they would take our family of 4 on a fishing trip the following day. They promised that they would supply us with fishing licenses and a 12-pack of Mexican beer and water. They also told us that they bring in many fish everyday and we have plenty of fish to take home. There are two boats to choose from and we chose the one that the captain had more experience and was told that he brings in tuna everyday.
When we arrived at the following morning at 6:30 a.m. we were told that that Captain couldn't come and they gave us a different guy. The new captain did not speak English. We do not speak Spanish. They brought us a six pack of Bud light and gave us are "fishing licenses".
We stopped to buy bait on the way out which was another fee.
We were excited to be on the boat and be fishing on the ocean for the first time however as we were driving out to the local fishing spot it seemed that every boat was passing us. This guy Pata was driving 5mph for an entire hour uuugghhhh.
When we finally got there he gave us no instruction on how to Fisher what to do he's simply started fishing lol. We were allowed to reel it in but thats it.
In the 7 hours we were out 2 were spent driving to and from the spot. We caught 2 lengua and 2 trigger fish all tiny and inedible.
When we got home we looked at the fishing licenses that we were given they were not even in our name. Thank God we were not pulled over as we would have been in deep trouble who knows what would have happened.
Beware of this place. They are nice to talk to but watch your back as it is not what it seems!!response / report this review -

Went out fishing with my brother on Feb. 27 and was very pleased with our entire experience. Rodrigo handled our booking dates and also came to pick us up at our location in San Jose exactly on time. He is very professional and friendly and strives to make your experience a great one.
Our captain Carlos and his son know the waters and where to get fish even on the days that are not the best. They handle all aspects of your fishing and Will get you fish.
Ohh by the way my brother and I caught two huge yellow fin tuna!!! We will go out with them again.
Bottom line: for the money you are getting a great experience!response / report this review -

Great experience. Everything as promised. Reasonably priced. Owner, Gustavo, his son Gustova, Jr, and Louise were all very helpful! Carlos was a great captain. Caught 4 Mahi Mahi, 3 Yellow Fin Tuna, and one Trigger Fish. 6 hour trip, 2 guys fishing. Highly recommend!

Go talk to Rodrigo or Baja Barry for the best fishing trips and all other activities. They own their own boat fleet so they don't have to pay a middleman for bookings. Barry is there in the afternoons, Rodrigo in the mornings. A very small location, which also keeps the prices down.

Well worth the money! The experience was awesome, and I recommend this fishing excursion to anyone. Rodrigo and his partner set everything up. All we had to do is be at the pickup on time. The rest of the morning was taken care of for us. Great boat captain too. We caught several fish! They had suggestions on how to eat it and where to have it cooked. Right next door! And it was delicious!!

total rip off. didn't get the boat we were promised, paid for full day got 6 hours from the dock and back, even tried to take a portion of out catch ?
This is not typical so be ware. Only plus was the captain worked hard to put us fish, being fisherman that was all we wanted.response / report this review
