  The challenge is not that we do not have brilliant minds to develop brilliant solutions to address our local problems. The challenge is in understanding the needs of the target group that will use the solutions. A solution is not a solution if people are not using it or see its benefit.

  Human centered design thinking is there to address this challenge. Be part of the ecosystem. Be part of framework... Create solutions that the community will easily use. Be part of the Human centered design training organized by status in Partnership with Invanti a US based Venture.

  IDEA SHARING IS POWERFUL

  Many a times as young innovators, leaders and entrepreneurs we fail to share our ideas with other people in fear of them being stolen and implemented by others. YES !! we can not run away from such circumstances in the world of innovation, entrepreneurship and leadership where everyone is trying hard to be on top of their careers and businesses. However, at STATUS we do believe in young innovators working together, sharing ide...as and trusting in their crazy ideas. We let young innovators, leaders and entrepreneurs share with their fellows what crazy ideas are popping in their head. This helps these young innovators to question their ideas even further and see how best the idea is to solve a problem or what value it is adding in the society. Ideas need to come out of our heads in order to add value to the society.

  At STATUS we focus on providing a conducive environment where young innovators can build trust in one another and work on their ideas further in creating value in their community and country at large.

  Dumisani aged 23 is a young graduate from the University of Malawi the Polytechnic, he holds a bachelors degree in Information Technology. He is a tech Enthusiast with his interest in micro-controller programming (hardware systems ), Internet of things ( IoT) and Unmanned Flying Vehicles -Drones. After graduating from college, Dumisani said no to employment and focused on his STARTUP known as Micromek, which specializes in software development and hardware systems prodduction. He founded Micromek in 2015 while still a college student. Dumisani through his startup has managed to developed a couple of systems for different organizations such as The school Management System for St Patrick's High School, He has developed a patient Dosage alert reminder system (T-Dose) for hospitals, Security system for homes and companies. In 2017 He co-founded a three time award winning social venture known as PEZA where they provide a digital marketing platform for people in the informal sector such as estate agents, plumbers, electricians, hair dressers among others. He developed a USSD PEZA app that allows potential customers access these low and semi-skilled personnel by just dialing *384*707# on their Airtel mobile phones.

  In 2017 Dumisani joined STATUS innovation mindset (Innovation center) team in order to help train young innovators, leaders and entrepreneurs to realize their potentials, goals and also help them change their mindset. His focus is in creating a society of young, fresh, creative and vibrant young individuals (community).

  Today, Dumisani joins Virginia Tech a company based in USA. Virginia tech specializes in drone production, testing, assembling and management based. He is part of the team which is being trained to undertake the project further in Malawi, by managing, assembling and controlling the drones in the country. The paramount importance of drones can be seen among other sectors in the health space where they are used to transport emergency blood to health centers where there is urgent need. This saves time and lives compared to road transportation where traffic can be high.
