Lukwe EcoCamp & Organic Gardens

  Lukwe Eco Camp was recommended by a friend and in turn highly recommend it to others willing to travel the off beaten path.
  Getting to Lukwe is a bit of a challenge as it is on the top of Livingstonia on a mud road. There is no public transport that go up so if like myself have been travelling by public transport you have two options. You can either take a three hour hike up or hitch a ride on any vehicle heading that way. Unless you are really lucky, drivers will charge you, can’t say an amount as it is random.
  The camp itself has two types of accommodation. You can set p your own tent or use one of the chalets. If you go during the rains it will be highly likely that camping will be difficult because of the ground. There is a common toilet and shower area for al the guests.
  Lukwe is truly "eco". The toilets are compost toilets. There is an organic farm produces the best produce and thereby Lukwe has what I think the best salad in Malawi! The owners of the place are really helpful and great to chat to.
  There is not much activities in Livingstonia but Lukwe is a beautiful place to relax. You can also take a short hike to Manchewe Waterfalls.

  One of the top quality tourism destinations in Northern Malawi and a national leader in permaculture. The organic gardens provide tasty contributions to its food offerings. Enjoy the view from their beautiful deck.

  Highly recommend staying at Lukwe. Truly "eco". The organic farm produces the best produce and thereby Lukwe has what I think the best salad in Malawi! You can also take a short hike to a beautiful waterfall spot.

  Outstanding setup. They're growing their food in their own gardens and there's beautiful plants everywhere. The restaurant is very nice with a fantastic view. Owner is a nice guy and will provide you with lots of information. One of the most mindfully designed places I've been to.

  Breathtaking views. A great place to relax, especially after navigating the mountainous road up.
  Definitely visit their organic farm. Happy and willing tour guides will explain all and teach you a lot.
