  I was staying in Protea Hotel and part of it is this restaurant. I came there to order meal to my room (which was possible according to reception) - first words when I said: 'Hello, can I order a meal to my room' weren't 'Welcome, of course!' but, from waitress looking irritated on her watch: 'but they have their room service'. Not even good evening I was so surprised that I didn't know how to react Finally, they make me that honour and allowed me to order a meal (after I've asked if I can speak with manager) And it was really mediocre. Everything was so salty. Medium rare steak was burn to ash. I have no idea who is writing all these positive reviews here - I would be surprised if these are real guests. I would recommend to stay away.
  
  PS. I've tried also order a meal next day - I thought that I will give them another chance. Service was only a bit better and food well Mediocre is best word here as well. I will follow their advice and stick to hotel room service next time.

  Best restaurant, grill house, steak house in Malawi.
  Make a Reservations if planning to go in peak periods (Christian holidays, last/first) weekend of the month).
  Went again in January 2017, the restaurant has been renovated and we had a wonderful time. Our waiter was Yamikani, such wonderful service. Keep it up 21!

  Fantastic place with amazing staff and even better food. The Chef is South African and knows his stuff. The quality of food is definitely worth the price, by western standards.
  
  The atmosphere is really nice and the tables, seats etc are super comfy.
  
  I would recommend the lamb curry/rice thingo. Really tasty. Their wine list is great too.
  
  Expect to be paying 10000-15000 per person for food plus wine.

  After a terrible experience at this restaurant I have decided to write the first review in my life. Went to Grill 21 with a group of about 15 people for a friend's birthday. She had made a reservation, this was not a last minute group coming in. We came in and were seated around 8. We ordered food and waitedand waitedand waited. Food finally started coming out around 9:50, almost 2 hours after we were seated. It probably took about 20-30 minutes for them to bring out all of the dishes too, so the first person was served way before the lastwho, unfortunately, happened to be the poor birthday girl.
  
  During the whole 2 hour wait none of the staff asked us if we wanted anything to drink (we had ordered a couple of drinks at the bar beforehand but my friends were all begging me for a sip of my water about 1.5 hours in). As far as I know, neither did they apologize for the wait. The food is fine, but doesn't make up for the terrible service. Would not recommend, and would especially urge large groups to stay away.
