Reasonable drink prices, more so than some of thier neighbours, good food, and a great outdoor porch to have sundowners on.

Great place in Cape Maclear for breakfast, lunch and/or dinner. Also popular destination for tourists to come together on the weekend. Food is OK but outdoor seating has breathtaking views of the lake.

A great place to stay in Cape Maclear! The chalets are clean and reasonably priced for mid-range lodging in the area. The staff and manager (Ndala) are extremely welcoming and helpful. Specifically, Ndala went above and beyond in resolving a dispute we had with some of the vendors on the beach who rented us kayaks (they changed the terms of the rental agreement after we had paid a deposit and led us to believe that the park fees were included in the price when they actually weren't). While the food is slightly more expensive than some of the local restaurants on the beach, the service and quality are well worth it. Based on this experience, I would highly recommending staying at the Gecko Lounge.
