Situated next to the SPCA in Blantyre , Doogles was a welcome sight after a long road trip. The rooms are very basic but comfortable enough. There is a restaurant and bar area , as well as a swimming pool. The setting is pretty and the staff were very helpful.
Doogles has really toned down from it's really lively old self. Its much more quiet these days and I don't meet people like i used to but it's still an awesome place to go relax and crack some cold ones with the mates. They're chef really puts the work in because their food is well worth the money-- try out their samoosas.
It was a ghost town when I was there and seemed like a shadow of it's former self. Beds were fine and food was ok but nothing spectacular.
Nice and safe place with friendly staff
Great service delivery staff are well trained
Nice place for drink one beer in relax.
Definitely one for the backpackers out there. Doogles can be an excellent place to meet and have a few bevvies with your mates and it can also be a quiet space to enjoy the Malawian sun by a well kept swimming pool. Alas, the Thursday night bands and happy hour are long gone but don't let that put you off.
Good service from the friendly waiter. The food is good value for money. I always go for the delicious veggie burger! The pool gives it a nice atmosphere.
Chilled and relaxed
Does what it says on the tin. It's an ex-pat focused lodge with big rooms, decent food and a large bar area you can relax all day in.
Basic but clean. Great value for money. Friendly staff, free wifi, great pool, and gardens. Generator for power when everyone else doesn't have electricity. Good food. Close to bus/taxi rank for backpackers using local transport.
Generally good service and nice place. Food service can be slow and some mosquito nets had holes in them.
Power warranty, good wifi, nice staff who take good care of their guests, safe place.
Sometimes nice people from blantyre meet in the bar to have a fun evening.
