  Love the pottery and love the food. This time we had the staff at Dedza pack our pottery for travel and we had nothing break on the way home a first for us! We have never spent the night but if we are ever again in the area I think I would make a point to

  Stopped by the lodge for lunch and its famous cheesecake. I got beef lasagna which came in a pot - it reminded me of Shepard pie but it was still good. The cheesecake, however, was a disappointment. It didn't taste anything like cheesecake. But it's still quite well-presented. Anyways, if you plan on going to the lodge for lunch, head there slightly earlier so that you avoid large groups coming in later! Also, keep in mind that service is not too fast here

  Great little pottery shop! I got a vase that said Malawi on my drive back to Lilongwe. They have a variety of cute patterns, and if you're there for more than a day, they can customize their designs for you to commemorate weddings, anniversaries, honeymoons, etc.
