Yonder Retreat Is a wonderful guest house on the island of Bodufolhudoo which is about a 2 hour speed boat ride from Male. We were pleasantly surprised to be received by an Italian lady and the wonderful staff at the jetty after a long journey. The place is well appointed and spacious, with 5 superb air conditioned guest rooms, a common room, dining area, free Wi-Fi [as the connection permits], Great managers and staff, good pre booking support including travel arrangements to and from airport and Male tour if you have time, food tailored to your requirements, the best house reef in the area, a pristine white sand bikini beach, tolerant and friendly locals and great excursions which can be planned right from the guest house with experienced guides to take you on these excursions. All the important things I needed in a perfect Maldivian getaway! If you ask me guest houses are the best way to experience Maldives unless you're a diver when live aboards make more sense and resort islands are for completely different needs.

Great guest house. Great hosts. Adam and team will ensure satisfaction and do everything they can for you. If you want to experience local maldivian life don't stay at any resort stay at yonder. Great experience staying with these people.

One thing the owner and management must take care of are the geckos at the place where buffet dinner is served.

Adam and the rest of his staff took very good care of us. They are attentive but respectful of privacy and fun guys all around. They may not think of every detail for you in advance but are MORE than helpful if you ask for something specific. The house has kind of a “dive retreat” feel to it and "island time" seems to reign as the example to follow. The rooms are not fancy, but are clean and perfectly comfortable. The food was tasty, satisfying, plentiful in portion and presented in a unique way for each meal. Getting around the island is not hard as everything is within a short walk. We did the excursion out to Picnic Island and enjoyed that a lot. The beach needs a bit of maintenance (a community trash pick-up day would do wonders) but that didn’t detract much from the warm blue-green waters and white sand experience. There is very little shade on the beach, though, so pack an umbrella if you want any respite from the sun. We did a two-night stopover on our way to Sri Lanka, which was a bit short as it does take some time (and can triple the expense depending on mode of transport chosen) to get to and from the island. I would suggest at least a three-night stay to not feel like you’re spending more time on transport than enjoying the island. We booked a speedboat through Atoll Transfer, which only runs a couple of times per day and takes at least 1.5 hours from airport to Boduolhudhoo so depending on when your flight arrives, it can be a long wait until the next boat - maybe even the next morning. So be sure to consider your transport to the island as part of your timeline and budget. All in all, we had a great time relaxing at Yonder Retreat..

Beautiful Island and welcoming hosts that will go the extra mile for you, the sights are truly mesmerising! The private beach is exactly what we needed with a number of sun loungers and also a canoe you can take out, couldn't recommend highly enough

Best holiday we ever had!!!! I would certainly recommend the place to every couple or family seeking a romantic and peaceful vacation. We got treated extra special by every staff at Yonder Retreat. One of them is available always and also understands that we need our own privacy too. The service is just amazing and make you feel welcomed. The room is really beautiful and cleaned two times daily. The private beach is amazing with sun beds, white sand and total privacy. The lagoon is small but enough space for a group to have a dip. Plus it makes it easier for us to access the reef which is the best thing about the island. I never had enough of the reef. Everyday you see something new. We saw turtles, stingrays, dolphins and many beautiful fishes and coral reefs. Private candle beach dinner, manta excursion where we saw a huge manta and the picnic island are all beautiful and exciting. We went fishing and Ali, our host was kind enough to provide us with a live bbq which we really enjoyed. Truly paradise and I will surely go back! We are already missing Yonder Retreat.
