Short Version: Spacious rooms, very comfortable beds, friendly staff, cheap and cheerful menu and some fantastic diving supported by the boat’s crew and the two ‘Oceanholic’ PADI Instructors (Sami and David).
Longer version (if you have the time): The guesthouse has only recently opened so they are still finding their feet in some respects. It is in the middle of the island, a very short walk from the beach and about 8 to 10 minutes from the Main Street and 10 to 12 minutes from the harbour. We were collected and dropped off on arrival and departure and, as an aside, the hotel’s organisation for transfers worked seamlessly (speedboat from Male on arrival, speedboat to Maamigili and short flight to Male on departure). There is some construction going on fairly close to the guesthouse but we did not experience any noise or disruption whilst we were there. Unfortunately there is a fair amount of discarded building material and plastic in the area, a problem endemic to a lot of developing places.
We stayed in the penthouse suite on the top floor which was absolutely superb, the bed was particularly comfortable and the room itself was spacious with a safe for valuables, a large wardrobe and a couple of bedside cabinets. An additional set of drawers would have been useful but this didn’t detract from the stay. Another reviewer on here has mentioned the fact that the TVs aren’t connected at all, you can, however, watch pre-recorded TV shows and films off a USB drive if you feel that way inclined (we didn’t turn the TV on and didn’t miss it, too busy enjoying the diving and the island ambience!). The open air Jacuzzi is a nice touch and we did avail ourselves of it on a couple of occasions. Room service were in twice a day changing towels and bedding.
Breakfast was included in the price of our room and was a ‘buffet’ style affair. Very substantial and sets you up nicely for the day. The evening meal was taken on the open terrace. The menu itself is mainly local dishes and definitely worth working your way through. We stayed for 10 days and felt that, towards the end, we wanted a bit more variety so we took a couple of meals at one of the nearby guest houses (Hermits, worth a visit).
The local beach has an area set aside for westerners (bikini beach) and, as the name suggests, the ladies can wear bikinis or other swim wear, there aren’t any restrictions in place as long as you stay within the predefined area (the guest house will adviseShow less

Just awesome experience!
Place has been recently opened and we were one of the first customers.
Staff is extremely helpful and manager was ready to assist with anything we need.
Local food for breakfast was one of the best we tried in Maldives.
We also used their diving services - it couldn't be better. Price is very reasonable and we were happy to have a private boat just for ourselves.response / report this review -
