It is a traditional place
This is the birthplace of our hero Sultan Mohamed Thakurufaan. With his two brothers they have fought a war to evict the Portuguese from the island nation of Maldives for fifteen years. As Muhammad Thakurufaanu is undoubtedly greatest hero the Maldives has ever known, visiting Utheem Ganduvaru which has a close link to him was a dream come true for many Maldivians.
The wooden palace has been very well maintained over the years, it reflacts on the lives of the affluent many years ago.
As its one of among few well maintained historical site of Maldives, its a must to include in you're itinerary if you're visiting Haa Alif Atoll.
The Utheem Gaduvaru is one of the inhabited islands of Haa Alif Atoll administrative division and geographically part of Thiladhummathi Atoll in the north of the Maldives. It is an island-leveladministrative constituency governed by the Utheemu Island Council. Utheemu is famed as the birthplace of Sultan Mohamed Thakurufaanu, who with his brothers and his companions fought an eight-year-long war to drive out the Portuguese invaders who occupied the Maldives from 1558 to 1573. Utheemu Ganduvaru is the wooden palace in which Sultan Mohamed Thakurufaanu lived and grew up. It is well preserved and evokes more than any other existing building in the Maldives, the lifestyle of the rich, centuries ago.
One of the most historical places in Maldives.
Utheem Gaduvaru is a historical Palace located in Utheem in HA. Atoll where Bodu Thakurufaanu (Al Sultan Al Ghazi Mohamed Thakurufaanu) was born and lived.

It's amazing, especially the part that we can see the palace upside down
