  Found the staff to be polite. Rooms have everything you need. Beach is lovely. Great place to relax for weekend

  1. Cleaning staff member Ferdinand at unit 796, 797 and 794 was exceptional, also polite and unit cleaned and neat.
  2. Person distributing towels at the quiet pool always on the phone, never once asked for room number. We had to help ourselves.
  3. Drinks service on the beach in front of our units was poor, waited long and sometimes never came
  4. Staff were reluctant for us to add a tip to the bill as they said they never receive it. According to them to is retained by the hotel. They asked for cash instead which was a bit disturbing!!
  5. The restaurants staff's performance was a inconsistent. You had a feeling some were permanent staff which performed well but the majority were casuals and did not care about service

  Everything was perfect except I objected to paying for water with the meal. The staff were so friendly and really tried to spoil us all the time. The rooms were spacious and clean, the surroundings were fantastic and the pool was amazing with plenty of sunbeds. The food in the restaurant was varied and always hot and plenty of choice for everyone. Enjoyed the free activities and trips organised by the hotel. Probably the best hotel I have ever stayed in.

  The majority of staff were very attentive and friendly, but some need extra training in the art of looking after the guests. Service in all of the restaurants was very slow, one occasion the same waiter was asked three times for a drink, One evening a booking for 8.30pm at Tides, I was not seated until 9.10pm and waited a further 20 minutes for the food order to be taken. I was also somewhat surprised when settling my bill that the coffee pods in the room were charged for on a daily basis. Given that this hotel classes itself 5 star and that each room has tea/coffee making facilities this is the first hotel I have been charged for the privilege. There are several extremely nice staff members working at this hotel. They made my stay with you bearable but on the whole, as mentioned before much more attention to detail is required.

  The best hotel in the west coast of Mauritius. Spent 3 nights with family. Food was very nice with lots if variety.
  The kids club caters for children activities, lunch and others with utmost care.
  The personnel is very attentive and caring, specially the house keeping.
  Looking forward for my next stay, provided that not travelling abroad.

  Thank you so much for a lovely stay in your gorgeous resort. Our children adored the Sun Kids Club and asked to go for every meal, as well as the organised water activities. It was amazing to see them discovering new skills (windsurfing!) and making new friends. I specifically liked the notices put on the club door to communicate special activities such as the live theatre and farewell breakfast. Our only issue was that in our room (garden view Manor house 783) the beds were small and uncomfortable to the point of having body aches during our 3 night stay. Perhaps they could be improved with a mattress pillow-top. Our extended family in other rooms (540 & 539) had no such issues. Otherwise, a great time was had. Happy New Year to the team.

  I stayed in Sugar beach for 6 Nights. Sugar Beach Hotel location is very attractive, Very good and stunning. All staff members are very humble and very supportive. Service is very fast and very excellent. Specially, Heineken beer DJ is very fabulous. We enjoyed a lot. Only I faced problem was that We did not get the proper Indian food. Please improve for Indian Peoples.

  This is NOT the hotel to come to for peace and quiet. We were lucky to be on the far edge of the complex, but the general hubbub every day was NOT appreciated. (wedding venue, noisy parties, loud music, constant refurbishment of parts of the site, loud gardening activity, children etc!) The dining experience was a bun fighttoo much coming and going, and very slow service at the table. (Also VERY steep mark up on drinks). The room and room service was good. The reception staff were helpful.

  5 star resort, but it lacks just a bit to be perfect!
  
  Great facilities, many activities, GREAT KIDS CENTER - really great - your kids will love it and you can relax!
  
  Anything extra will cost you, the staff tries to sell you extra here and there But the thing that annoyed me the most - you are not allowed to wear short trousers during the buffet dinner! I am sorry, but this is a beach resort and it is buffet! I do get it for all the other restaurants in the resort, but not the buffet! And I never packed a proper smart trousers, so ended up wearing cargo pants for a week for dinner!

  The hotel complex was absolutely gorgeous, complemented with professional and attentive staff.
  
  The food was first class, well presented and sufficient covering any dietary needs.
  
  My issue with a nut allergy was well handled when a compromise was identified, the staff handled it very well.
  
  I was disappointed though we were sharing the facilities with corporate conferences and private gatherings restricting the quite pool for a day and half. There was also a beach party the next day that went on well beyond the 11pm cut off.
  
  Good newsletter but the hotel communication around the private events was not sufficient enough to make other arrangements.
  
  Activities and the sharing ability with "La Pirouge" is a big plus. The water-sports were excellent for a beginners like me with good instruction, and the staff were all clear on their responsibilities when it comes to managing risk.
  
  Room service and cleaning was first class and cannot be faulted.
  
  Overall we believe we have found the best holiday location yet and we will be returning.

  Great hotel with amazing food. Nice clean rooms and comfy beds. Great amenities too. Would highly recommend. The staff are amazing and do everything to make your stay as pleasant as they can.

  We had the pleasure of visiting your hotel and have certainly rated it as a MUST to come back again. The staff were a lot more welcoming and had greater people skills than the hotel we had been at. The food was exceptional and we loved the sharing of company with the birds :) The beds were very comfortable. Just a little note: our basin was cracked. That was not a problem for us but it needs to be addressed with maintenance. Your gardens are exceptional. We even adventured on the bus route and had some fun. Thank you for a lovely stay.We will certainly recommend this resort.

  Superb all round. Except for a Tides restaurant manager who was extremely rude and did not know how to handle himself in front of a table of 16 of us. That made a small dent for the team opinion early on, but everybody else was absolutely magnificent and made up for it. The food (breakfast & dinner) was out of this word and so was the staff. Drinks service a little slow and over-priced, but other than that I am happy! The location is idyllic and the overall takeaway is that I will definitely be back!

  My wife and I came to Sugar Beach for our honeymoon and we couldn't have had a more enjoyable time.
  
  The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly from arrival right through to our final day. The waiters made a special effort to get to know us and our regular drinks orders!
  
  The rooms are very comfortable and welcoming. The amenities are good and the mini bar is well stocked! The housekeeping were fantastic, keeping our room spotless throughout the entirety of our stay. I could not praise them enough.
  
  The food and drink provided was fantastic. At the main restaurant, every night was a different culinary experience so we never got bored of the meals on offer. As an alternative, the Tides restaurant was also very good, especially the lunch menu.
  
  I cannot fault the bar one little bit. As i mentioned, the bar staff got to know our drinks orders and had them readily available as soon as we found a spot by the pool/beach. The cocktails were delicious and there was a large variety to choose from. Being in Mauritius, naturally the rum cocktails were the best.
  
  All in all it was the best honeymoon we could have wished for. Thank you Sugar Beach for giving us the best memories and we hope to re visit again in the future.

  We enjoyed our stay in Sugar Beach Hotel very much. Perfect location for all the transport. Beach is very well located and very clean and private position. Hotel rooms and all the restaurants are very well maintained. Can't complain. Staff were very well mannered and were always happy to help. will definitely try and come again.

  Overall it was nice experience. Staff was friendly, our room attendant Janine was polite, happy and friendly.
  We had booked a table for dinner (when we booked in) at Citronella's, when we got there we were told that there was no reservation. It took a while before we were finally seated although it was 9.15 pm and there were a number of empty tables. The service was professional and dinner was very nice.

  Coming to Mauritius and staying at Sugar Beach hotel was what dreams are made of. We've never had such an extravagant holiday, purely because we couldn't afford it. After loosing our 4 parents between July last year and January this year, we decided to spoil ourselves as a family. We were blown away by the place and its fantastic staff. Each day was enjoyed to the fullest and we very quickly fell in love with your beautiful country and its friendly people. Our rooms were outstanding. A few steps and we were out on the beach. We enjoyed many a sunset and often after dinner before going to bed we would lie on the deck chairs on the beach and watch the stars. What a treat. We loved our morning walks on the beach and were amazed at how much the staff did to keep the beach in such a pristine condition especially after a few days of very high tides. Our grown boys loved the water activities, even though we had four days of the red flag flying. The pool next to our room was amazing and the boys loved their time spent in it. The Sports Bar, Tides and the football and volleyball games provided many opportunities to meet people. We have so much praise for your hotel and all those that work so hard to make it the special place it is. My husband whose father was born in Mauritius and left at the age of 21 found it very special to look up the old family graveyard, where his father went to school and the places he used to frequent as a growing boy. There is so much to say about our amazing time in your beautiful country and hotel. We hated leaving. Our 11 days just flew by. If it was up to me I'd be back every year, but our finances won't allow that. In 2020 my husband and I are married 25 years and I will also be turning 50 in that same year and we are planning towards another trip to Mauritius. Thank you once again for giving us the best holiday anyone could wish for. Not enough words to say just how grateful we are that we were able to enjoy this holiday in your magnificent hotel. Merci 😊

  We chose Sugar Beach Hotel & Spa for our wedding anniversary because we were there 2 years ago and appreciated the professionalism of everyone there.
  The most amazing experience was the 60 minutes relaxing Aura Spa experience. We've been to many spas but we think Sugar Beach auraspa is the best in the island.
  The staff behaved beyond expectative. We appreciated & will definitely come back in December 2017.

  Sugar Beach is an amazing place. Beautiful buildings & setting. Facilities are second to none & the staff are incredible people, so friendly & warm. If you're thinking of going to Mauritius then you can't get better for your money
