La Croisette is a nice and cool place situated at Grand Baie in the north of Mauritius. Well design, underground parking, food courts , cinema, shopping mall.

The infrastructure is nice, the place is comfortable and the quality of the cinema is good overall. The staff tends to be very cold, something which I experienced myself and that I see a lot of other reviews talking about. While this may be true, I was there to watch a movie and not to talk with the staff, so it didn't affect me at all. They don't take credit cards, but this is the case for most cinemas as they all prefer cash.

I had a harrowing experience at star la croisette last Sunday! Had been there with my hubby, it was our time out after a long, hectic week but the way we were treated by the security agent left us both very upset, too upset to enjoy the movie at least! When we showed our tickets at the entrance of the theatre, the person over there casually remarked that we were not allowed to bring in snacks bought 'enba'. We were obviously a little bit confused by his words. Indeed we were carrying a white biodegradable bag which contained some chips-guess it was a huge eyesore for him! We did not reply as he did not offer any other solution or action and carried on. At that moment, the guy addressed me and pointing towards my husband, he insolently queried 'eski li p compren? Li compren kreol?'. I never felt so offended in my whole life and someone insulting my husband in this way, i could not bear! Ensued a big argument after thatin public! I'm definitely not ready to put my feet there again. Poor, discriminatory and offensive staff!

Nice theaters, but they don't take card payments which is a let down. The theater plays all English language movies in french dubbing, but also plays an original version (English) at 18:00 only, sometimes at 21:00 also. The problem here is that the English version has french subtitles, why?? If someone wants to watch the french version, they will. Why would people watch the English version with french subtitles?
