Simply delightful! Staff was extremely attentive, food was mouthwateringly good! Definitely a place to try if you are in the area. Prices were very decent and we can recommend the “bananes flambés” as a dessert. There is a good reason that quite a few French celebrities have eaten at this restaurant. (And have their photo on the wall) Truly recommended.

Probably the best restaurant in the north !!
We had booked a table on their terrace for my husband's birthday because we wanted something special for that occasion. And we were not disappointed. The food is absolutely amazing and the surroundings makes you feel that you are at home..very cozy. Good wine list with good prices.. I can only give my best recommendations to this wonderful place which is far away from the touristic area of the north, it is so worth it. We even came back one more time for our last dinner in Mauritius.response / report this review -

The entire experience from making the reservation through the final sip of Amigo's housemade rhum arrangé was world class! Being new to the Northern part of the island, I was searching online one morning for a dinner spot for my family for that evening. I stumbled upon a review of Amigo and followed it straight to their facebook page. After watching some of their videos, I knew this was a place we needed to try out.
I sent a short message via Facebook to reserve a table and immediately received a response. They provided directions and their phone number just in case.
When we arrived, we were greeted in such a friendly way which made us feel as though we were being received by friends at their home. They made us delicious cocktails and served us an appetizer on the house. What a treat! They are not interested in multiple seatings in an evening, and you never feel rushed. The relaxed and friendly atmosphere was matched by their attention to detail.
I really could go on and on about the freshness of the seafood, the originality of the dishes and the friendliness of the owners, who are hands on in every respect- but I would urge you to go and check them out for yourselves. You will be so happy you did!

"A little bit disappointed"
We went off to find this restaurant with high expectations having seen the photos of Jacques Chirac and others VIP and reading positives reviews.
The boss gave to us a nice welcome (always smiling). But clearly,the restaurant must have been refurnished.
Atmosphere outside and inside restaurant is not very welcoming.
But i have to be honest, it was a good culinary experience, a little bit expensive owing to atmosphere.response / report this review -

The best on the island, thanks to the team for a memorable evening. The red snapper carpaccio is devine. Followed by the grilled lobster. The service was excellent.

The best restaurant in cap malheureux. The staff is excellent. The proprietor, Kavinen by name, a young chap who is absolutely brilliant, caters to you with an undying smile. My husband and I religiously ate our dinner at Amigo all the 9 days we were at mauritius. A must visit. I challenge you, you'd go back multiple times. The waitress aashna, a gentle young girl, will make sure you feel right at home.
